Otto Dem Wanz
Has there ever been a shitter ending to an episode of wrestling than that time Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler called Daniel Bryan a turd? Â It's bonkers to say, but possibly the best wrestling show ever produced (Wrestlemania 17) is a contender for this if you're counting PPVs. Paid Members Tommy! Posted January 15, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 15, 2017 Shut the front door, that Austin turn was fine. The lack of an established top level face for him to work with besides Taker and Kane again going forward was daft, and being in Texas made it less of a reaction I'd guess, but that turn and finish on that night as a show closer wasn't that bad. Pinc
Not that bad? It was one of the greatest ends to a show they've ever done. Barmy shout.

Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 16, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2017 It's not a bad idea and that screenshot is OK but it was typical of them. Made them both look stupid when it should have been a second before they faded to black.
Pier Six Brawler
The ending to WM17 was fine. But they should've had Austin betray Vince the very next night on RAW. Or at the very least stick with the face turn a few months later when he went back face to help the WWF against the WCW/ECW Alliance.
Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted January 16, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2017 Just managed to finish my second essay in a month on pro wrestling for my business masters. First one came back as one of the higher ones in the class, so here;s hoping for a second. Or at least, not a fail.
Liam O'Rourke
Stealing that worst show endings idea for a podcast - not this week (which a RuView of Spring Stampede 2000), but next, that will be fun. Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted January 16, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2017 Do you review Spring Stampede in the context it was meant to? Like it seemed as if it was WrestleMania 17 coming off SuperBrawl and Uncensored. Â Like an idiot, I rewatched Uncensored 2000 recently and my God. New Blood Rising might have been worse as well. Paid Members ElCece Posted January 16, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2017 I watched all there 2000 PPV's earlier this year. Utter dog shit. Â For worst ending to a show to me my mind jumps straight to mania 9. Probably as someone who doesn't like Hogan its a prime example of his bullshit
Pier Six Brawler
I absolutely HATED the ending of WrestleMania 9 at the time, and still do today. It seemed like all the good work the previous year in having younger or better workers at the top of the card was being flushed away in favour of the same old tired Hogan routine. Plus Hulk looked like a fucking leather man at the time. Plus it sickened me to hear Jim Ross gushing over Hulk Hogan after all his years promoting the more credible NWA/WCW product. Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted January 16, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2017 I liked it because I was hoping it would lead to Hogan v Bret, which it never did of course. Didn't stop WWF Magazine doing a feature on how a match between them might go, raising my hopes still further. Bastards.

As a 9 year old at the time, I was chuffed to bits. I kind of resented getting Sky just after all the big stars had left, so it felt I was getting a taste of Hulkamania like everyone else had. Of course in hindsight, it didn't work. But business was down in 93 and Vince had to to go the tried and tested formula. I can't say I blame him. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted January 16, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2017 When in 1993 was Hogan vs Bret supposed to happen? You'd assume either King Of The Ring or SummerSlam but then where would Yokozuna have fit into their plans then? It seemed like they were always planning to push Yoko as the monster heel. I guess they still could have gone with Stars & Stripes Lex Luger vs Yoko underneath Hogan vs Bret, but I always assumed they only turned Luger because Hogan fucked off.
