None of this is a surprise sadly. Depressing to think that I've paid to attend and supported so many shows with disgusting scumbags on. Puts me off seeing any BritWres again.

"The Wall of Shane". Jesus fuckin christ.

A small portion of this has been no surprise at all to me, but a lot of it has still blown me away. Not that I thought a lot of these guys were 'top blokes' or anything, and I've been no stranger to wrestling sleaze stories by any means, but the way they've felt empowered to behave for so long is incomprehensible when you actually see it all written out.

Like the Joe Coffey example astonished me - he was sending girls porn out of the blue and sending multiple unanswered creepy messages over a period of months. It's the kind of thing you'd expect from a virgin on a dating site, you'd think a guy who looks like that could just...be a fucking reasonable person and do fine with women

Just an insane amount of shit to digest in a short space of time, but hopeful for the future, I didn't think I'd ever feel able to engage with the scene again but lets see what things look like the other side of all this. Really glad to see the Wainwright/Ospreay/EVE/Pollyanna situation talked about again, since I tried to draw attention to it last year and it got engagement but then just sort of went away and there's still a lot of people out there buying into the image EVE sells to them.

I've thought similar, glad I don't support it. The problem is these are just the ones being outed. @dopper and @FelatioLips pointed out that some of the stories are minor offences, for lack of a better term, and while @Chris B did his usual sterling job of explaining it, the problem I see is that "minor" behaviour (and worse) is absolutely normal in the industry. We've heard years and years of wrestlers bragging about what they or their friends have done to women, and sometimes men, and because they're famous and every wrestling fan is a massive hypocrite, we all carry on as normal. We're utterly aghast now reading real stories from real victims that are very close to home but many of them pale in comparison to shit they openly brag about or stuff that is common knowledge. Surely only wrestling can have a list of sleaze that we've all seen and then this comes as a shock.

My two hopes are that this affects real change and that ALL dirty bastards are outed and binned off, even the really famous ones.

The thing is, a lot of well known US names WERE accused of misconduct (or worse) the last time this happened, and nothing was done. A lot of people would essentially have to come out and essentially say "remember how I said this a few years ago?" and hope that they're not ignored again. And that's horrifying. Imagine openly telling people about a serious incident that happened to you - something that you may very well think about on a daily basis - and no one seems to give a shit?

Given the power dynamic in American wrestling, it seems incredibly easy for serious allegations at the very highest level to get ignored or brushed over. It very much seems to me as if accusations are treated as a PR issue and not as something that should be directly addressed. How often do we see statements issued saying that an issue is being taken seriously, and then when things quieten down we never hear about said matter again? They wait for things to quieten down and then move on.

I never knew anything about this, so am glad to have seen it highlighted. Very disappointing. Maybe they should've knocked up shirts saying "Piledrive A Nonce" instead.

That Alex Shane stuff is fucking horrific. I've not read the other stuff but holy fuck. If it was running joke then each and everyone of them can go fuck themselves regardless of involvement.

This is all disgusting. Even from my brief time in British wrestling, it needed changing then and there were clear abuses of power in training schools. There is traction to the movement, more and more people are speaking out and sharing their stories. Whatever is left of British wrestling after this, it will be a different place and hopefully a much better place. Things need to change, there is zero excuse to not any more.

Also, we can add Jack Gallagher to the list of people. He sexually assaulted my wife (she's now gone public so I can speak). Not very gentlemanly.

Whilst I hope every that every abuser gets what's coming to them I don't think it's helpful to lump in blokes who once had a consensual relationship with a 16 year old with the others who appear to literally be raping people. Or is it just me? I'm going through Twitter trying to get myself caught up on everything but for every sickening story I read I'm seeing two or three that come off like minor sexual misadventures.

I am very sorry to hear that Lariat. How awful.

I worked back stage fairly often with Sexsmith and Ospreay. Will was always a gobby dickhead who thought he knew best, but his allegations arent new. I am surprised about Sexsmith, he always seemed more grounded and polite then most. Some of the other never made it wrestlers were shit bags. BANTER BANTER and sharing naked pictures of their partners, so I didn't hang around much with "the boys" as I thought they were idiots. But never saw or heard anything like the allegations I am seeing now.

So sorry to hear that about your wife @LariatTom but well done to her for going public. Hope she’s doing okay.

The whole situation is just sickening. There's names that I've trained under being named for being absolute scum and it's just all so shit.

Honestly, if this leads to a lot of scum being blackballed and the industry becoming a safer place to be a fan or a wrestler I'm all for it, but a lot of this has really knocked me for six the last 12 hours or so.

Apologies, I'm rambling.

At what point did you think this post was a good idea? Honestly.
