On the tram yesterday about 1 in 5 people were wearing masks. In the city centre, people milling about shops with no masks, despite having had to be wearing one to enter. A decent proportion of whom had masks around their necks, having taken them down as soon as they got inside.

Why are people such cunts?

95% of the people in Asda were wearing them yesterday. That said I’d say half that were wearing them properly with most not having their nose covered at all

Must be well easy to go on the chore at the moment. With a hat and mask on I could be anyone.

Got IDd for fags yesterday. Very surreal as she looked at my driver's licence, then at me with only my eyes visible. I should've put on a shaky teenager voice to really throw them.

I'd say 75% of people I've seen in shops have had them on.

In Scotland as you are aware we are a bit behind with rules for pubs, restaurants and going in people's houses only recently relaxed.

Needless to say I've been horrified at social media this weekend. So many people out with friends all huddled around touching each other for photos. I've even seen one video of beer pong amongst friends in somebody's house, the most hygienic game ever. Oh and a few folk abroad with one even stopping off at a Greek tattoo parlour.

It's like everybody thinks it is over.

We are absolutely fucked.

Planes coming back from Spain and the Spanish isles are quite literally speeding to get back before the deadline for quarantining. There's one scheduled to arrive at 11:58.

My other half has just tracked one going 350mph at 10,000 feet over Market Harborough.

What a time to be alive.

Tests came back negative thankfully! Saves me a headache about the Mrs going into to labour and not being able to go with her, and the worry about all the potential health risks to her, the baby and our two-year-old. Very relieved.

Yeah, I’ve noticed this too and it’s really getting to me. Went out to get some food shopping the other day and it was like I’d stepped into six months ago, people crowded everywhere, tourists with cases, nobody bothering to keep distance or anything, felt like I was the only person who remembered anything that’s been happening since March. My socials are full of people who’ve been sharing the “keep your distance / wear your mask / bad government” stuff through lockdown, who are now out crammed together on pub tables, organising mass beach get togethers and so on. Like everything is normal. It’s not. And here I am still staying in whenever possible, still on furlough from work, still not having seen anyone in person, like some idiot. If we get forced to do another lockdown when it all kicks off again is anybody even going to listen?

Sadly I don't think we will ever get a second lockdown unless death rates go through the roof. The attitude of some people amazes me mind, even my mother in law who has been really sensible during this all seems to think that if the government say something is ok then that's that.

An example is she went to the shop a few days ago and I asked if she had her mask "we don't need them until the 24th", she is wearing a mask now mind and after her husband, my wife and myself have routinely told her that the gov advice is shite she seems to be making more sensible choices.

My family have shown themselves up to be a bunch of fuckwits, visiting my 'shielded' grandparents, all just continuing to see each other during lockdown etc. I mean I was working from home and my wife was very ill during pregnancy so we needed child care and her parents said they would fully isolate as well to help us which was an absolute god send but my lot have all been living in this super bubble with far too many circles of socialisation.

Once restrictions were lifted my shielded grandad was back to golf and car sharing with his mates, he got a letter saying he was no longer shielded and wanted to go to the pub. My brother who I don't speak to due to him being a colossal twat is also expecting his second child but he and his wife have been sending their son to nursery and to my mums and grandparents.

Am I being overly cautious and paranoid or have people forgotten how bad this all was?

No. You're being sensible. A lot of people seem completely oblivious to their own levels of stupidity. Even prior to the mask rule (which should have been put in place a heck of a lot sooner), you'd see people in the aisles of shops doing stop and chats not giving a fuck about social distancing or other people.

The only reasoning I can think of why people are so keen to get on with stuff is that it's been utterly depressing for the last few months and people want some semblance of normality. This isn't me condoning the ignorance of a lot of folk, more just trying to understand it.

I genuinely don't think those who aren't taking precautions will change unless they lose someone in their family to the virus. And even then, there's the chance they'll rationalise it to themselves as them being too old/ill/drunk all the time/etc. Any odds they won't get it are seen by them as a certainty they'll be alright, Jack. It's a horrible societal catch 22 - take the precautions, successfully minimise the risk and spread, and they get up in arms that it was all trumped up; don't take precautions and let the virus rip, health services and businesses get nuked and those same people decry not enough was done.

Caveat: Where I've said "they", I mean *gestures vaguely*.

Went to the park today after my walk and used the outdoor spin bike and a few other bits and bobs of equipment, i was getting strange looks, no doubt for me wearing disposable gloves while using the equipment. It totally baffles me that the general public seemingly look down or get confused that someone gives a hoot about other peoples safety, as well as my own

You weren't wearing the cut off jean short things you were wearing when the cow levelled you, were you? If so that might explain the funny looks!
