Anyone watched the remake of Little House On The Prairie on Netflix and recommend/suggest to avoid?

I somehow ended up in a YouTube rabbit hole recently watching clips from the old show and want to give it a watch, but also don't wanna waste 8 hours if it isn't much kop.

I’ve read a few things about it from a history perspective, it sounds like you’ll get the same kind of gentle / cosy vibe as the old show but they don’t fully ignore some of the harder truths behind it, ie they’re settling on land that belongs to the Osage Nation. Seemed generally positive on a quality front and I think it’s been reviewed for a season 2, which isn’t always the case with Netflix these days so that’s probably a good sign too.

Trying to find something to watch last night and Vicky put something called "Benidorm Is Murder" on. Bloody hell it was a difficult watch. We only made it about halfway in. John bloody Hannah is an ex cop turned pub landlord type in Benidorm who hates being there, and gets manipulated into solving murders by the feisty Spanish lass who works for him and because she watched loads of detective shoes as a kid thinks she could do the job for real. There's also an actual cop and her idiot son, who are the nemeses of the main duo like the Welsh bloke in Shakespeare & Hathaway Investigations. It wants to be a cosy crime show, but also wants to be Benidorm. It litters itself with references to other detective shows and is nowhere near as clever as it likes to think it is. The episode was about the guy who plays Robbie Williams in a Take That tribute being found dead after the band have an argument. Cue lines like "we need you to come and answer some questions for us at the station. It only takes a minute."

If anybody is curious it's on Channel 5. Don't bother.

Watched the first two episodes of the new series of Ted Lasso and they were so fucking terrible. You know exactly how each episode is going to end from the start and how they get there is not even interesting. It's so badly written that the decisions the characters make make no sense.

On the flip side I watched the first episode of The Detroiters and it was fucking great. Having only watched the sketch show I didn't know if their humour would be too wacky for an actual plot driven sitcom but it worked well for me.

Yes Detroiters is tremendous. Has the great mix of batshit silliness and genuine warmth that I find in all of Tim Robinson’s comedy. Tim and Sam are so ridiculous but they’re also such lovely and excellent pals. Also please please please watch The Chair Company as well, I think it’s the best thing he’s ever done. Additional also: wai til you see who plays Tim’s dad in Detroiters!

It's actually mad that as someone who considers Tim probably my favourite person on earth I still haven't watched The Detroiters or The Chair Company, will have to change that over the weekend.

This is still one of my favourite sketches of his, kills me every time.

Yeah I'm sure that'll be next on my list if I enjoy the rest of The Detroiters as much as the first episode!

My wife and I were trying to work out if the script was this bad for the last set of seasons, because it really is shit. It's fine to have on in the background but it's not worth investing in.

The last series was shite but watchably so, perhaps carried by the goodwill of the earlier stuff. This though... Not sure if I'll even bother. Maybe when I run out of Tim Robinson stuff to watch!

I haven't seen it yet but it wouldn't surprise me because there were 2/3 episodes in the last series that were really ropey. And the Beard episode in S2 was up there with the worst episodes of a show I like that I've ever seen. I thought they collapsed over the finish line in a satisfactory way and it was absolutely right to end it. What do I know?

I enjoyed the first two seasons of Ted Lasso. I found the last series really difficult to get through and never finished it, it was cheesy, cringeworthy and predictable. I keep thinking about finishing it for closures sake, and I really like some of the characters but I haven't managed it yet. The decision to make a new series just reeks of a cash in, and I think it will ruin any legacy it has.
