Got the recent Alan Cumming drama about suburban homophobia Tiptoe mixed up with the early 00's Gary Oldman dwarf melodrama Tiptoes today. The young people weren't impressed.

Has Plebs ever been talked about in this thread, as the search brings up nowt. Its rather good, isnt it? Wasn't expecting a whole load from an ITV sitcom, but we have enjoyed it loads. Grumio steals the show, and is comedy gold. Funny storylines, a great supporting cast, solid leads, and a soundtrack that just seems so bizarre when you first start watching it, but after a few seasons it just feels like it fits like a glove with the setting, which is borderline genius. 

 

Can also recommend Smoggie Queens on iPlayer too, if you want a fun comedy too. Completely over the top, daft fun.

 

Over the top, daft fun is a perfect way to describe the new season of Rivals, too. Always plenty going on in it, and nearly every character is pretty good too (with the exception of Taggy, who is extremely one note and dull). Tenant steals the show, though, and leads it perfectly.

Half Man.  Bit much like innit. Fuck me there were some bleak moments in those early episodes, not that it picks up just that it being kids really hits different. Richard Gadd is really fucking good in this. Lazily and probably hyperbolically I would say he digs in to his inner De Niro to take on the physicality and sheer intimidation of his character. He’s a really good actor. Reuben is like a mash up between Jake La Motta and Paddy Considine in Dead Man’s Shoes but strangely somewhat slightly more likeable. Should probably just let him do all his own stuff because he’s written himself some cracking parts so far.

I really enjoyed it but I was confused by the last episode as it made it seem like there was going to be another episode as the final but in fact there wasn't.

Watched Maternal Instincts on Netflix over the weekend.  Fuck me! It’s a largely run of the mill true crime documentary for the first 75 minutes of its run time, lots of questions asked, very few answers, before going completely bat shit mental for the last 15.

I’m not easily shocked, but my jaw was on the floor as the details of what happened emerged. Truth really is stranger than fiction or in this case, wilder!!

Five out of five, purely for the fact they resisted temptation to drag it out over twelve 45 minute episodes and instead, get it told in a lovely ADHD friendly hour and a half.

It's pretty good, even if they are a little bit too serious. It's interesting to hear them talk about the writing process and how Gervais and Merchant would be quite precious (quite rightly) about people thinking it was improv, which they say wasn't the case, rather it being loose. 

The Always Sunny guys say that as well, that their show is loose and they welcome that, and find new ways and avenues to work on, and I know they were really influenced by The Office. They also talk about how they feel like they're more of a band than a TV show, which Martin and Mackenzie talk about as well. So its nice to know without David Brent, there may not be a Dennis Reynolds

Ricky Gervais has also released his own thing on his YouTube channel where he counts down his 25 favourite Brent moments. I'm not gonna tell you to watch it, it's very much up to you if you can stomach him for an hour. He doesn't do the laugh as much as you'd think, but he does do it. My love for The Office is so much I tolerated putting up with it.

I tell you what though, no criticism as each to their own, but he's had some work done.

Ricky Gervais has been deleting any comments on instagram and YouTube that mention Stephen Merchant. I also saw he released a video of the care from his new cat show watching The Office. It is dreadful. And he’s still saying he wrote it/created it. No credit to Smerch.

To be fair, knowing what Ricky's like, i think hes probably on the wind up with this Merchant stuff now. If he is actually deleting comments that mention him, im sure hes not that precious.

Merchant has released some stuff and referenced them both, and hes previously said there's no issue. 

Ricky is just doing it to stir up some controversy.
