Merzbow Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Margo's Got Money Troubles A new AppleTV show that's gone under the radar a tad but deserves to be watched, a real solid little comedy drama about OnlyFans, single parenthood (and some wrestling) starring Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer in the first new thing I've seen her in in years and she's great, they're both ace. Nick Offerman plays the former wrestler dad who was supposedly around the WWF in the New Gen era if going by the footage they've made. There's a bit of a big dig at WWE in there early on, with how they treat women on the roster if they do OF. Quote

Thought it was going to be brutal but the hit to miss ratio on the sketches I’ve caught on Youtube has been excellent. It’s a really good blend of topical jokes and British surrealism. They’re showing the second episode straight after as well but TV is going off. Also finished watching Margo's Got Money Troubles which was a really easy watch, a great cast and a bit of wrestling in it. Quote

Dai Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Not too sure about Widows Bay, up to this point. It feels too much like a Netflix show, where the brief is to make something that people can watch whilst also looking at their phones. Considering its on Apple, I thought they could have gone a little deeper with the lore and the characters. It has the potential to be amazing, but its falling short. The last two episodes were not good. Episode 8,especially, was awful and lazy. Amandaland Season 2, however, was superb. They've made her even more Partridge-esque this season, and its all the better for it. Joanna Lumley steals every scene, and surely will win the Bafta next year for this. Quote
SoloJones Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Yeah Widows Bay I didn't get on board with at all, just not very engaging and I found myself willing it to finish. Off the top of my head, genuinely not sure if I finished the season or not. I did just finish Ponies though, and that was mostly very enjoyable, a bit tone-shifty but it usually works. Great stuff from Amelia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson, and Vic Michaelis has a really fun recurring role. Quote
