Yeah my own greyhound is not into other dogs, especially if they’re not sight hounds. She quietly tolerates and ignores the ones she’s comfortable with and actively avoids the rest. She does sometimes make an attempt to get other dogs to chase her if she’s in an off lead scenario (we have a local fully secure park we hire out for the purpose) but most dogs aren’t up to the task as you can imagine.

Oscar was signed off by the vet today, staying at the Dogs Trust over the weekend and will almost certainly be adopted, so today was likely goodbye. We had him for a few extra weeks to rehab multiple procedures and to try and improve his mobility. He’s been neutered, had his dental work done and after several attempts we had settled on a medication course that helps with his back leg issues and mobility. Had him for six weeks when it was only intended to be two, so have grown quite attached to the boy. Definitely the goofiest greyhound I’ve met so far, has a Retriever-like dopeyness about him and is particularly clumsy. Friends with everyone he meets, great with other dogs, gradually started to show a brilliant playful side after the first few weeks. Going to miss him but it feels good’s to have rehabbed him and got him ready for his new life. Very sad that he’s in such a state at 5 years old though, greyhound racing is awful. In-store mirrors are necessary because children famously don’t have reflections due to their nature. Public mirrors allow for easy detection so they can be swiftly eliminated after infiltrating the shop.

As much as I agree with @tiger_rick’s points about Penta winning MITB, that entrance with that special briefcase was pretty terrific. I do love that man and I am chuffed to see him doing so well. Even if you don’t love the exploding briefcase you have to at least enjoy how much he loves it. Look at his face after it goes off. Magnificent.

It is reassuring to see in slow motion how she was able to prevent landing on the top of her head as it was impossible to see in real time. Also utterly wild to see actual sparks flying as the chairs scrape across the concrete. Again, in real time this is one of the scariest wrestling bumps I’ve seen. So fortunate that it wasn’t a life changing injury or worse.

As a huge fan of Aminata and Coming to America, I bloody love that. I think the original theme is an easier listen but this one feels a bit more big time and stand out.

The Lucha brothers felt like a really notable miss on the tribute show so I’m glad they got to send a message out on a big platform like this. Poor Fenix could barely get any words out but was still lovely to hear from them.

Nooseman Alan Rage vs Phil Ofsted.

EVE 155: Global Thunder Queens Attack Nice little tribute to Pac before the show, done as a cold open to set it apart. Memorial photo on the screen, Newcastle scarf hung over the ropes and the crowd chanting his name. Four way elimination match - Chantal Jordan vs Milla Moore vs Marz vs Gianna Capri Marz formerly known as Lil Marz. Was quite funny as Sikisa did a big announcement that "SHE IS NO LONGER LITTLE, THIS...IS..MARZ" only for "Lil Marz" to appear on screen one second later. Milla Moore works for TNA and I've seen her compared to Eva Marie because she looks like a million bucks but is... limited... in-ring. Gianna Capri has made several appearances on AEW Dark and ROH as Mafiosa. She is also signed as a WWE ID Prospect. One of the more memorable AEW enhancement talents for me as she has charisma, a distinctive look and crazy flexibility. Some very rough stuff in this match. Marz and Capril were not on the same page during their opening exchange with some hesitation and awkwardness, though Capril did land some of her signature bendy legs related offense. An even worse moment from Milla Moore where I think she was going for a TKO but Jordan somehow ended up taking a back bump and then Moore just sort of sat down next to her anyway. Another ropey looking moment involving Moore in the finish as she barely got off the ground for Jordan's ki krusher and had to be deadlifted. Thankfully Jordan and Capri had a tidy little exchange highlighted by a glorious spinning Bossman slam from Capri, so the match gets an extra star for that. The maths for that work as follows: Bossman slams add half a star at base level, a bonus half star if it's a viscerally satisfying enough specimen to make me rewind and a final half star if executed by a big fat man. Dutch matches are always a minimum 1.5 stars based on the FGBMS index. In this case it was a Bossman Slam, I did rewind it but there were no fat guys involved. You then multiply it all by zero because I don't give star ratings but it's important that I show my working. Gianna Capri was fine here and I'd like to see her back in Eve in a more substantial role. Really happy to see Jordan get the win and two eliminations to continue building momentum. Marz looked a bit off but I've seen her do better than this and she was eliminated in less than a minute. Moore is gorgeous and looks like a statuesque fitness model but she was involved in two pro wrestling moves in this match and they both went wrong. Oof. JGU vs Alexis Friggin' Lee Incredible that JGU debuted in 2024 and has yet to wrestle 100 matches. The confidence, heel instincts, consistency and timing she has at this stage in her career is mindblowing. Both her and Cory Zero carry themselves with so much swagger and seem to have such natural understanding of pro wrestling. Really excited to see how far they can both go because they're really only just getting started. Alexis Lee is a likeable underdog with a memorable look. She is also much smaller than JGU, so the story of this was JGU not taking her at all seriously and trying to beat her at a strolling pace, while occasionally looking like she might fall victim to hubris. French Art are extremely over as babyfaces with the Eve crowd but Lee is easy to root for and I liked that JGU made a point of being as much of a dick as possible. The people love French Art but they are fully committed to villainy and I respect that. JGU got a babyface pop for her entrance, but was such a scumbag during the match and such an outrageously ungracious winner that she left to a chorus of boos. Nothing spectacular here but it was solid, good fun and the live crowd loved it. Nice novelty to see JGU in her first Eve singles match too. Great video package for Marina Shafir vs Miyu Yamashita at Elite Encounters in November. Killer Queens (Emi Sakura and Mei Suruga vs Hyperactive (Safire Reed and Anita Vaughan) So very sad that I wasn't able to see this live. Two of my favourites from Eve vs The Queen and her star pupil. I love everything I've seen from Mei Suruga and of course Emi Sakura is magnificent. Some bloke called Billy who works backstage at Eve on guest commentary for this one. I loved this, obviously. Silly, funny, action packed, brilliant energy from start to finish and so much personality from all four. Mei Suruga the MVP of the match though; remarkably tiny even for a Japanese women's pro wrestler but an absolute force of nature. Lightning quick, charisma in spades, can be a cheeky heel but is also the pluckiest underdog you have ever seen. Everything she does takes her size into account in the best way. Too many great spots to list them all, but my two highlights were doing a backwards Undertaker rope walk because she'd mistakenly rope walked into the opposition corner, and miraculously scoop slamming Anita Vaughan towards the end for the biggest pop of the match. Aside from all the silliness this also had a hot closing stretch and was an all round cracker of a tag match that went nearly twenty minutes and felt like a sprint for the duration. I truly hope Killer Queens will be booked again soon as I'm not missing them twice. Lana Austin vs Violet Nyte In-ring promo from Violet Nyte running down the people her team has taken out, one of them being Lana Austin, who made her surprise return after three months. Particularly loved that the Nyte promo interrupted Sikisa doing her post-interval crowd work. I've been wanting to see a heel do that at Eve since I started following them. I don't need the hosts or burlesque performers to be involved in physical spots or angles, but it's such good heat for a heel to interrupt the host. Great reception for Lana.. Short and sweet match, Lana getting some well deserved retribution and plenty of hatred on show between the two. Gabby Forza vs Charity King Gabby Forza is incredibly charismatic, recently signed to TNA and generating a bit of a buzz. The Gnomie gimmick could definitely be polarising but she has an infectious likeability to go with her obvious physical strength and deceptive speed. Charity King is also a beefy powerhouse from Texas, endorsed and mentored by Mark Henry. Enjoyed this match a lot, two powerhouses trying to prove who's the strongest, throwing big bombs and throwing each other. Some really impressive feats of strength from both, with Forza's highlights including an Oklahoma stampede and a massive T-bone suplex. Always used to love when Taz would hit that move against big opponents. Charity King had a great closing stretch too, a massive splash from the second rope and a nod to Mark Henry with the World's Strongest Slam. Would be happy to see either of these two back in Eve, a strong showing for both of them and they had the crowd fully on board. CLOCKWORK CARNAGE: Hollie Barlow vs Rhio vs Molly Spartan vs Kay Lee Ray vs Emersyn Jayne vs Lucy Deathmatch vs Skye Smitson vs Alexxis Falcon Here we go then. Will Ospreay's new creation getting its first outing. As convoluted as this looks on paper, in practice it's not that complicated at all. Wrestlers enter every 2 minute, pinfalls or submissions result in elimination. After all 8 have entered,, the eliminations stop and the remaining wrestlers do a 15 minute Ironman match. As I mentioned previously, my favourite thing about this is the eliminations prior to the scoring phase. You can't crown a winner until everyone's in, but the first half still has real stakes and a sense of danger because anyone could be eliminated. I thought this match was tremendous, a great pilot run for this match type with strong booking, loads of tension and fantastic action throughout. I *loved* Rhio and Barlow being number 1 and 2 for a few reasons. Firstly, these were the two wildcards who didn't get into this match via qualifiers on the last show, so they have the handicap of a longer path to victory to account for that. Second, it obviously allows them to continue their feud, and thankfully they went to great lengths to make up for seemingly forgetting to do that on the last show. Barlow came out in a furious rage, foregoing her entrance and getting right into it. This is the fire I want to see from her against Rhio and it made for a red hot opening. Lastly, they used this as an opportunity to show that A) drawing 1 and 2 is a real disadvantage and B) the pre-scoring phase is not a formality. Eliminating these two before the final fifteen minutes (particularly Rhio as one of the favourites) hammered this home brilliantly. Barlow eliminating Rhio was definitely one of the highlights of the match for me and I can't wait for a big singles match between them down the road as they were electric together. Once we got to the scoring stage there had been three eliminations, so it ended up being a 5-way ironwoman match with the scores on screen to keep track of it all. Hard to say who the MVP was here as Emersyn Jayne, Molly Spartan and Kay Lee Ray all put in fantastic performances. I'd maybe give the slight edge to Spartan, who looked positively monstrous and was booked really strong, scoring an elimination before the scoring stage and then three pinfalls during. Her offense looks fantastic, she has loads of physical charisma and is constantly yelling and talking shit. She was set up as the monster to beat in this match and could not have performed that role any better. Emersyn Jayne was on fire too, hitting all sorts of great high flying offense, renewing her old rivalry with Kay Lee Ray, bumping like crazy, acting as the perfect underdog for the two big monsters in the match and keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. That said, my overriding memory of her from this match will be the most terrifying suicide dive bump I have ever seen. Actually horrifying heart in mouth moment as she almost overshot Spartan, but the sort of half catch almost made things worse as she ended up plummeting into the front row vertically, going down on what looked to be the top of her head. She must have somehow avoided this as it's literally a concrete floor there with no protection and she was miraculously OK afterwards, but fucking hell that was scary. Alexxis Falcon played her role to perfection, with highlights including poking Molly Spartan in the eye and going "OOOHH NOOO I CANNAE SEEE!" and stealing a pin on Kay Lee Ray when Molly Spartan had just pinned her and made the mistake of taking a moment to celebrate. She has also taken to doing tiger claws with her hands and singing the Hull City "mauled by the tigers" song, which is a wonderfully Yorkshire bit of heel schtick. Lucy Deathmatch really is a revelation in this gimmick. It has immediately shot her up the pecking order, and the place was going nuts for the prospect of her squaring up to Molly Spartan for a monster battle. Genuinely feels like a new act entirely, completely refreshed and reinvented, very cool to see. Outstanding closing stretch to this match, booked brilliantly and timed to perfection. Kay Lee Ray had been laid out for some time after Molly Spartan hit a spectacular Powerbomb on her from the top rope through a table on the floor. KLR was out for a full five minutes and it was just long enough to convince you she might be out of contention. She then returned with 90 seconds left and managed to score THREE falls before the buzzer, stealing the match from Molly Spartan with 10 seconds left on the clock. Properly thrilling finish that left so little room for error and they completely nailed it. Closing promo from KLR "Elite Encounters Wolverhampton, Kris Statlander, I'm taking back what's mine, I'll see you there ya cunt!" We're a long way from Alba Fyre folks, you absolutely love to see it. So yeah, a massive thumbs up from me for the first Clockwork Carnage. Everyone got a good amount of shine, they used it to further some existing feuds, they showed off the key selling points of the match concept with some surprising eliminations and the order of entry being significant, and it was a great example of how much fun that 15 minute scoring phase can be when everyone's already been through hell to get there. A really enjoyable show overall, highlighted by the excellent tag and a top notch first outing for the new gimmick match. Upcoming stuff: Eve 156: Skye Blue vs X Hyperactive vs French Art for the Eve Tag titles Eve Elite Encounters 2 Eve World Title; Kris Statlander vs Kay Lee Ray Eve International Title: Marina Shafir vs Miyu Yamashita The Brawling Birds vs Hyperactive. Skye Blue vs X It's worth nothing that these two shows are two days apart and Skye Blue is working both of them. I hope she isn't planning to do two deathmatches in one weekend but I wouldn't put it past her. Also this isn't an upcoming thing but I would LOVE to see Abadon wrestle for the Spirit of Eve title. Just putting that out into the world.

Not too much to add from me either as everyone’s said it. I completely lost it when Ospreay hit the picture perfect Black Arrow and it was so obvious how much it meant to him. One of his most superhuman feats to date in a career full of them. I knew he was going to do it and I knew he’d nail it but I was terrified for him as he went up there. Absolutely unreal and one of those clips that will set me off any time I go back and watch it. Echo the sentiments about Moxley stepping up and shouldering so much and delivering in every way possible. The captain of AEW. The main event and the closing video package were simply perfect. Absolutely beautiful, ended up setting off again when Marina got involved. Feels odd to say about a show brought about by the worst circumstances, but I’m about a year behind on watching AEW but this reminded me of basically everything I love about it. Classy, moving, horribly sad but also joyful. Let’s hope that’s the last one for a long time.

Sorry to spoil everyone's fun but I have to say I appreciate the bean consistency. I like a viscous clump of beans. Intimate, local beans who know each other and have a sense of community rather than strangers in an ocean of bean juice. If Onyx2's breakfast looked Southern, those beans are as Northern as it gets.

Just want to say that this thread has brought the best out this place in horrible circumstances. No spreading or debating of gossip or speculation, no edgy or cynical comments, just lots of very thoughtful and respectful posts. Really cool to see how people have different memories of PAC at different points in his career and their fandom, as well as a few more personal ones from those who actually knew him. @HarmonicGeneratorwas the poster on here I knew would be hit the hardest from a fan perspective and that post was as heartbreaking and lovely as expected, but the thread as a whole has been as positive as it could be after such awful news. Obviously this is exactly how the thread should be, but it’s certainly not the default on the internet and I don’t take it for granted.

What the fuck that is devastating. A spectacular athlete who rounded out his game to become an outstanding pro wrestler. One of those guys where AEW would throw up a graphic of “X vs PAC” and you knew it would be a guaranteed belter. Also carved out a great grumpy bastard persona for himself and I found myself laughing out loud at some of his promos when early in his career you could tell it didn’t come naturally to him at all. 40 years old, absolutely gutting.

Eve 154 Couldn't make this in person as it was only a week after the last show and I cannot justify back to back London weekenders. It seemed that a lot of people felt the same way too, as this had a notably quieter and smaller crowd than most Eve shows. The theme for the show is a series of qualifying matches for a Clockwork Carnage match at the October show. Clockwork Carnage is Will Ospreay's latest creation and the winner of the first one will become number one contender for the championship of their choosing. The rules: 8 COMPETITORS. TWO STAGES. ONE WINNER 2 COMPETITORS START THE MATCH SELECTED AT RANDOM EVERY 2 MINUTES, ANOTHER RANDOMLY SELECTED COMPETITOR ENTERS UNTIL ALL 8 COMPETITORS HAVE ENTERED, ANY COMPETITOR WHO IS PINNED OR SUBMITS IS ELIMINATED ONCE THE FINAL COMPETITOR ENTERS, ALL REMAINING COMPETITORS ENTER A 15-MINUTE SCORING PERIOD DURING THOSE 15 MINUTES, EVERY PINFALL OR SUBMISSION SCORES ONE FALL WHEN TIME EXPIRES, THE COMPETITOR WITH THE MOST FALLS WINS. Combines a few different previous ideas, will see how it plays out, currently my favourite thing about it is that eliminations can occur at any point before the scoring period. Avoids the problem of the period before that having limited stakes or feeling like killing time, as anyone could still go at any time Chantal Jordan vs Emersyn Jayne Spirit of Eve rules match and the first qualifier for the Clockwork Carnage match. This had a shaky start and some moments of miscommunication and hesitation, but thankfully they brought it back in the second half and this ended up being fun. I appreciated that they didn't go all out with tacks and blood etc. when they just did all of that on the previous show. Few weapon shots, a big table spot that looked fantastic and some chair spots in the ring. Enough to set it apart from a non-hardcore match but a wise move to be a lot more restrained than the bloodbathh on the last show. Nice to see Chantal Jordan getting this little run of featured matches and the audience is getting behind her a bit more on each show. Violet Nyte va Nahir Robles vs Alexxis Falcon vs Anita Vaughan Elimination match with some odd pacing, as Nabir Robles made her debut, had a short flurry of offense and was eliminated in three minutes. It was good heel heat for Alexxis Falcon but was surprising to see her out so fast. Didn't get to show much of what she can do. Violet Nyte was also dispatched very early by AV. After that it was a decent singles match between two very reliable performers. Falcon is always terrific, a real throwback heel who revels in being as mean and sneaky and obnoxious as possible and takes every opportunity to wind up the crowd. I actually quite liked AV as a no-nonsense heelish bruiser during her singles run, but she is a naturally likeable babyface too and her offense all looks great. I liked the commentators bringing up that AV would have to choose between a singles title match and a tag title shot for Hyperactive had she qualified for and won Clockwork Carnage, but Falcon felt like the obvious winner from this line up and she did indeed steal the win. First Class Dolls vs The Showstoppers This was meant to be Showstoppers vs French Art for the tag titles, as Fierce and Morgan held the champions to a time limit draw at Eve 151. Sadly French art had to pull out due to injury. I like the Fierce and Morgan team but I am not impressed that they still don't have matching gear. Unacceptable. Fine tag match, I like the First Class Dolls from what I've seen on these two shows and the Fierce and Morgan team has promise. Shame it wasn't the intended match but they did OK given the circumstances. Nixi XS Lucy Deathmatch Never seen or heard of Nixi XS before but I liked what I saw here. She has unique and extremely stylish look, great facial expressions and did a really good job being as much of an annoyance as possible in this match. Lucy Deathmatch is completely revitalised in this role too; this gimmick fits her like a glove and I'd love them to keep this new hardcore title on her for some time as she should be the dominant killer of the division. Essentially an extended squash but I liked what I saw from both of them. I have since gone back and found Nixi XS' appearance on ROH, in which she got MURDERED by Marina Shafir. Even by Marina Shafir squash match standards it was brutal. A great look and a great sport. Her Cagematch says she's only 23 and 3 years in the business too. Molly Spartan vs Nightshade Real kaiju battle here between the two biggest powerhouses on the roster. Loved that they went for a full on sprint for five minutes, hitting each other with big power moves and trying to end it early. Was just getting going and moving into a higher gear when Nyte Skye ran in and screwed Nightshade, continuing their ongoing feud with her and Martina. Would definitely like to see Spartan vs Nightshade again, hadn't thought about what a fun pairing it would be until I saw it here. Martina ran in for the save, leading straight into: Session Moth Martina vs Skye Smitson w/Violet Nyte Good heat for this despite the smaller crowd; Martina is incredibly over and Smitson is a quality villain. Martina has great facial expressions but she was stuck on Ruby Soho face for a comically long time in this match during her comeback. Other than that this was good stuff, Martina fighting back despite interference and cheating from the heels. Heartbreaking ending as Martina was rallying and went into her usual finishing sequence, only for Skye to escape the Jaeger Bomb, hit her own flurry of offense and get the win. No Martina in the Clockwork Carnage match! The Martina sadness arc continues. Abi promo! Assuming the pipe bomb position for this one to indicate seriousness. She has basically given up. Every attempt at finding assistant work has failed despite her heroic and tireless efforts. Her extra work for AEW didn't pan out, Amira Blair didn't give her the job she was promised and instead gave her a stunner. Abi is going to take some time to figure out what's next for her. It's not goodbye, it's see you later. Devastating. The Clockwork Carnage match has two wildcard spots. Just putting that out there. Safire Reed vs Kay Lee Ray First time match up between two of the best on the roster. This was the best match on the card by some distance, really engaging and aggressive back and forth between two wrestlers with a very similar fearless in-ring style. Was pleased to see they had good chemistry, and perhaps a lesson was learned from the main event of the last show, as they went for 16 minutes instead of close to 30 and it was better for it. Really loved the last few minutes of this in particular, calling back to last month's finish but adding some fun twists and turns. KLR raising the middle finger of defiance to lure Reed in and hit her finish, only for Reed to kick out for a fantastic and genuinely shocking near fall, Then it was Reed throwing up the middle finger herself, and finally the exclamation point as KLR busted out a god dang Jay Driller (Kay Driller?) to finally put her away. Top main event, I expected these two would be excellent together and they didn't disappoint. Definitely a bit of a comedown from the last show. Not surprising with it being a week later *and* the tag title match having to be substituted. Still a fun show and a very enjoyable main event. Reaaaally gutted I can't go to the October show though, as not only does it have the Clockwork Carnage match but also the return of The Queen herself, Emi Sakura. She's worked two Eve shows since I started following the promotion and I've missed both of them. So sad. To rub salt into the wound she's teaming with her number one student Mei Suruga, who I would also absolutely love to see live. Killer Queens vs Hyperactive, should be excellent. Card for October: Clockwork Carnage: Molly Spartan vs Emersyn Jayne vs Lucy Deathmatch vs Alexxis Falcon vs Skye Smitson vs Kay Lee Ray vs ??? vs ???. Hyperactive vs Killer Queens. Also the Eve debuts of Gabby Forza and Milla Moore. I've seen bits of Gabby Forza, looking forward to seeing her in Eve, she has a lot of charisma and is incredibly strong. She is also a gnome. Milla Moore I have not seen. Not seen great reviews of her work but I will keep an open mind.

Breakfast lunch and dinner for me. Spent many years in different parts of the North west but never adopted “tea” for the evening meal either. Lunch ladies sounds far too American. I guess I square away school dinner/dinner ladies in my head because they serve dinner-esque hot meals despite it being lunch time. Just a grotesquely dull paragraph there. I will add that the under appreciated sitcom Girls5Eva has a male school cafeteria worker who refers to himself as a Lunch Lord and I love that very much.

Was funny going for the low score challenge and being chuffed to see Shevchenko turn up. Haven’t got under 70 yet though.

I’m just worried about the mayor of East Palo Alto. Seeing Royce getting caught up in the game after all these years, it’ll break his heart.
