There wasn't the sense you got with Arn Anderson's son that he'd been thrown in beyond his ability, or with Brian Pillman Jr where he's not comfortable in himself or a style that works. Hook knows what the people who were interested wanted to see, which is what if Taz was young and hot and debuting in AEW. There were a lot of expectations around his debut but it always felt to me that's where those expectations were aimed, not that he'd be at Bryan Danielson's level on his first pro match. They should concentrate more on carving their own path instead of trying to convince everyone that they are the second coming of The Midnight Express. Don't buy into their act at all. Hook has managed to do that with a combination of genuine, well-trained skills and savvy social media, and all while barely saying a word. Genuine crossover appeal.
