Moderators PowerButchi Posted January 16, 2021 Moderators Share Posted January 16, 2021 Was also in the best prospective stable ever. Â Â
Cutting Edge of Bluntness
When watching matches from the World of Sport era, I've noticed Kent Walton make some fleeting references to American and Japanese wrestling (Spiros Arion headlining MSG and even Vince McMahon being mentioned). Was there much in the way of coverage of US wrestling in the pre Sky era? I know WWF turned up on ITV and Screensport had AWA but what about before cable came around? Moderators PowerButchi Posted January 24, 2021 Moderators Share Posted January 24, 2021 (edited) The earliest I've ever found is a listing for WWF on Sky Channel in 1984. Edited January 24, 2021 by PowerButchi
DavidB6937
Has anyone got or recently used Honorclub? Was hoping to get a trial to see what content is on there but don't think they do one. What's their historic coverage like?
Perry
Was just catching up on the latest episode of The Last Leg earlier and Tom Davis was banging on about having a tryout on NXT UK. What's that all about? Apparently Shawn Michaels wants to bring him into the WWE
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted January 25, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted January 25, 2021 Tom Davis is 6'7" and in his 40s, so a future WWE headliner in the making.
Paid Members BomberPat Posted January 25, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted January 25, 2021 There was a fluff piece on WWE.com because Freddie Flintoff was Tweeting about watching NXT UK, and jokingly suggested him and Davis become a tag team. I can't imagine there's any more to it than that.

RancidPunx
Was there much talent that came from NWA Hammerlock Ireland ?  Fergal Devitt and Becky Lynch would be the obvious names ...  Anybody else train with hammerlock Ireland ? Don't quote me (there will be far bigger experts) but I think highlights of the Ali / Inoki fight may have been shown as part of WOS. Also the Boxing and Wrestling News magazine was sold quite widely here from the 60's to the 70's which featured most US promotions. Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted January 31, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted January 31, 2021 Does any one know why British Bulldog wasn’t in the first SmackDown! game? It seems to cover the period he was in the WWF (and main evented a PPV title match), and released before Bulldog left the WWF in mid-2000. From what I can recall he was originally in the game but they had to remove him when they found out he kept winning whether he wanted to or not. Liam O'Rourke
Bulldog had to have just missed the window - he came back in the mix in mid-September 99. The Dudleyz, who made it in the game, I think debuted right at the start of September.
TheSurgeon
Just watched some clips on youtube of a childhood favourite film of mine - The Barbarians. IMDB has them billed as being from Hartford, Connecticut. I wonder if Vince ever considered having Peter and David Paul on a show, they seem to tick a lot of boxes. Paid Members waters44 Posted February 2, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted February 2, 2021 What are some of the better Elimination Chamber matches? I’ve seen the first one at Survivor Series and the Summerslam one with Goldberg but I think that’s it. May as well make the most of my Network subscription and catch up on some good ones!
