They did have a 3-Way between Darby, Joey Janella and Jimmy Havoc on one of the early PPV’s, I want to say it was at the first All Out.

Stadium Stampede 2 doesn’t seem to have got the reaction they were hoping for on social media, but they’ve got 2 more weeks of TV to get people into it. It shouldn’t be an annual thing though, that’s why things like Hell in a Cell don’t mean anything anymore. Do it when the feud calls for it rather than just because you did it this time last year.
Personally I think a gimmick match between Jericho and MJF would be a better way to go, but perhaps they’re saving that until what PPV comes in August or September (or maybe even on TV at Fytr Fest if they end up doing that again).

I figured they were doing the Casino Ladder Match instead of the Battle Royal again so I marked The Hardy Family Office and Dark Order for the Stampede match.

Stadium Stampede 2 feels way too early and Jericho returned too early. I was hoping for MJF vs Sammy at Double or Nothing. Also not sure why they are having a huge match that won't take place in front of a crowd at their first full capacity show. They should have gone with MJF/Sammy at DoN and had Jericho return there to help Sammy defeat MJF.

Looks like Orange Cassidy was OK after the show so hopefully hasn't got a concussion. According to twitter it seems the original plan was for them to go to time limit and then the 3 way be announced. Explains the strange ending which was pretty creative to come up with on the fly and still get them to where they wanted.

Cody Vs. Ogogo will be a perfectly fine piss break match.

Or for a nap.

Don't wake me up before Ogogo.

Stadium Stampede again disappoints me largely because not only was the first so good that I find it hard to imagine them doing anything which doesn't seem a let down in comparison but also it immediately gives me the fear that Blood & Guts will be an annual event too.

I know wrestling is a big fake dance but having feuds which climax in perfect timing with annual themed PPV's is just so fucking ridiculous.

War Games and HIAC are things that have lost so much impact being wheeled out every year in WWE with whoever they can shoe horn into them being involved and I really hoped AEW were going to avoid that.

That was an absolutely cracking episode. The worst I could say about it is that I'd have liked a few things to breathe a bit more, and some more from women wrestlers. But other than that, it was a reminder that so much happening in a show back in the attitude era was so much fun. I couldn't have a show like that every week, but it was fun this time.

Highlights were the opener (which was just really, really good fun), the tag match (poor Daniels - that looked grim, but the payoff was great, and Matt Jackson acting like a dickhead while covered in his blood was amazing), Orange/Pac (even with the injury and the improvising), and the main event.

A ridiculously over-booked two hours, but a lot of fun because of it.
