Subtle thing but noticed Pac went to climb the corner turnbuckle on his entrance, looked at the crowd and then didn't bother. I thought that was great.

He’s been doing that for every entrance since he turned heel back in 2016

A theory I've had around WWE for years is that they've declined in quality the more they've switched focus from a live event recorded for TV to a TV show that happens to have a live audience.

I've said this before, but Raw appears to be a soap opera about the making of a live wrestling show.

Picked up/browsed some DC comics this week and the above poster (slightly amended) was on back page of most of them. Some good publicity for AEW.

Did anyone watch the show last night on about 11pm? Is it the uncut version?

Was just checking the recording myself to see as I watched the full version on Thursday night - the MJF match is still fully cut out for some reason but everything else seemed fine and was all there.

Shame people watching this won’t be exposed to MJF, he didn’t do anything major but it was a decent showing for him

I’d like to know why two people are having a match, why there’s a rivalry between them, how come one guy is jumping another or - in the case of the guys in the masks who cut the promo on the stage - what their names were!

If you can’t just enjoy a match for the sake of a match then watch one of the multiple extended video packages they put out before events. The Cody match had plenty of extra build outside of what was shown on TV.

If I had known that I’d need to before hand, I would have. But you shouldn’t have to watch YouTube videos to keep up to date with storylines. It doesn’t happen with any other tv show.

This. There's this assumption that everyone these days is a hardcore mega fan that will happily lap up every second of content they churn out.

But in reality, most normal people won't and if they want to branch out to a wider audience they need to start incerting excerpts from these said Youtube updates into their TV shows.

You didn’t know you needed to watch the months of hype packages to know what was going on? What other purpose could they have served?

I can’t think of many programs that have all the characters fully fleshed out and explained in the first 15 minutes. Except for cartoons. Maybe Mucha Lucha is more up your street?

The people who aren’t hardcore mega fans are probably just happy to turn it on and watch the match without over analysing it.

We’re on show 1.

Were people really expecting 2 hours worth of packages explaining who people are? They’ve been hyping this for months and have put out TONS of content explaining who people are.

If you’re coming out of watching their first show saying “well I don’t know who anyone is and why they’re feuding with each other”  then you’re not giving it a chance at all.

WWE show video montages before each match on PPVs showing you a quick round up of the feud and how we got to the match happening. That’s all I wanted. It’s the first TV show so a quick round up of what’s happened on the previous PPVs really helps for getting the casual wrestling fans, like me, into the show who are checking it out for the first time because it’s on free Tv.
