Awards Moderator Frankie Crisp Posted September 13, 2017 Awards Moderator Share Posted September 13, 2017 Frank Vincent has passed away. Brilliant in, well, pretty much everything he did but possibly most known for his part in the Sopranos. And this: "Now go home and get your fucking shinebox..." Pier Six Brawler
And this? I'd say he's far more famous for Goodfellas than the Sopranos. And for his part in Casino where he got revenge on Joe Pesci by beating him with a baseball bat and burying him alive. RIP.

Paid Members PunkStep Posted September 14, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted September 14, 2017 Aww man, shitty news. I love Frank Vincent. I have his book, A Guy's Guide to Being a Man, think I'll go through it again in honour of the great man.
Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted September 14, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted September 14, 2017 I bought that book for my wee brothers birthday, but ended up pinching it for myself. His role as Billy Batts, while brief, is amazing. The shinebox scene is also about the only scene in film history my stupid brain can quote perfectly. Guest
I know nothing of the book and next to nothing of the author, but that's a great title.
pitseleh
Grant Hart of Husker Du fame has passed away. Shame, I haven't given them the listen they deserve, but 'Don't Want To Know If You're Lonely' is a cracking song.

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted September 14, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted September 14, 2017 Shame to hear about Frank Vincent. I didn't see him in that much stuff but the things I did see he was always a highlight of any scene he was in. This was one of my favourite endings to a Sopranos episode, you could tell it was all about to properly kick off; He was such a horrible bastard as Phil Leotardo. There's a scene where he's looking for Christopher, who's hiding out from them at his mum's house, and he turns up with a heavy and the exchange went something like this; Quote Phil: Hey, we're from Alcoholics Anonymous, we're looking for Christopher. Chris' mum: Who are you? Phil: Well, we're anonymous. Chris' mum: Sorry, I don't know where he is. Phil: Listen you fucking cunt, you tell us where he is. Or I'm gonna take that Walkman and I'm gonna ram it up your box!
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted September 15, 2017 Awards Moderator Share Posted September 15, 2017 Shambolic soap-dodger Harry Dean Stanton has died at 91. The definition of a character actor. I tried looking up all the things he's been in on IMDB and I got thumb strain.

Hugh Thesz
I will always remember Harry Dean Staunton for his role in One Magical Christmas which is a film I and a couple of folk I know find really disturbing; even with its positive ending.
