RIDDUM_N_STYLE
Hard to watch the news break on SSN just then, Adam Leventhal pretty much broke down in tears reading out the Taylor family's statement as I think he has close ties to Watford
Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted January 12, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 12, 2017 I know he was a terrible England manager (Carlton Palmer shouldn't have been driving the bus, let alone anchoring the midfield), but I always admired how his teams got the job done in the league. Paid Members Gus Mears Posted January 12, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted January 12, 2017 Some excellent news for fans of people who aren't dead, but you assumed were.  Geoffrey Bayldon, the bloke who played Catweazle in the early 70's, is actually still breathing AND has set up a Twitter account at the age of 137. Check it out!  https://twitter.com/GeoffreyBayldon  His first Tweet is a corker.    I've never been to IKEA.

Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted January 13, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 13, 2017 I know he was a terrible England manager (Carlton Palmer shouldn't have been driving the bus, let alone anchoring the midfield), but I always admired how his teams got the job done in the league. Â Who else was he going to pick for England at the time? Taylor seemed a brilliant bloke. Wasn't exactly a plethera of great England footballers about in 1992/1993. Gazza was fucked for most of his reign. Seemed to have a good league record with every league club he went to though. RIP.
MungoChutney
I always liked Taylor, especially when he was managing the celebrities on The Match for a couple of years. I thought no one had a bad word to say about him but I'm reading Ian Wright's book just now and he hammers him a bit.
Keith Houchen
There is a chapter about Taylor in the brilliant book "Inverting The Pyramid". Didn't realise how pioneering his style was. Yes it wasn't pretty but it got great results.

Keith Houchen
The actor Miguel Ferrer has died. He is one of the most "Oh that's him" actors for me. Unrelated, the woman who wrote and sang Lambada has gone the way of the dance too.
