Shout out to Jordan Henderson as well. Booked in a match he didn't get a minute in, then it seems he's gone and broke his arm after. What a shift.

Full commitment to his role as social secretary on tour. Ends up in the hospital with a broken bone, nothing to do with playing, everything to do with celebrating.

Woke up at 1:50AM (we're an hour ahead over here) to see the hour-long delay, went back to sleep and had an anxiety dream that I couldn't find the England game on TV.

Probably the most pathetic anxiety dream ever, granted, but it didn't do my nerves any good and they were shredded by the actual game (which I woke up in time for and did find on the TV).

Just an absolute World Cup classic, wasn't it? The sort of game people who watched it will be recalling fondly decades from now. It had everything. I wish I'd been watching it in the pub with my mates, but, alas.

Really looking forward to the Norway match now. If we beat them - and they will be a serious test - I might just start believing...

If it makes you feel any more confident, Scotland beat them 2-1 and drew 3-all with them in 2023. Three years ago of course, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say you have a better squad than we do.

EDIT: And, erm, I’m sure we’d have handled Brazil just as well as they did…

Dunno how England got through that. We are so, so shit. I'm beyond sick of this team playing fucking depressing sideways-passing crab football time and time again. Take someone on you pricks!

Bit harsh, whoever wrote this. We aren’t that bad!

But I really hope he drops Gordon now. He wasn't at it at all. Madueke on the left looked much better.

Yeah never been more happy to be wrong about a player. If it wasn't for Bellingham's absurd performance he'd be MoM easily.

What a fucking game to have to deal with at 2am. I think that's the first England knock out game I've ever watched solo and I never want to do that again. Pure torture.

Think I finally got to sleep at 6am I was so buzzing after the win. I'll remember that game for a long time, just wish I was in my local watching it rather than at home in my pants.

That was a sensational match, some of the tensest football I've ever watched, and I'm not even a rabid England fan. Really impressed with the England players performance and grit in that, honestly expected England just to fold after the red card.

Bellingham said after the game. Teams of the past have crumbled when we go down go down to 10 men so I think we all were expecting a fold and history repeating itself again!

But what a game, what a team, grit, determination and heart. Feel like we finally arrived at this tournament last night and the team is starting to believe along with us!

I made a plan to go to bed at 10pm knowing I had to be up for work.

Woke up at 1am, had another hours sleep and then watched the game. Incredible gameplay really and the story in the match was magnificent. I watched it back with a clear less sleepy mind at the 7am feed to just enjoy the other stuff the crowd going silent, the commentary rather than the match itself its all perfect.

Those last 15 mins plus stoppage is the most tense ive been watching football

Its a shame that trump has dominated the rest of the days news

I would say Spain and Portugal should be fantastic and roll on Saturday night

And now I have to cheer on Odegaard and Haaland, don't I. I fucking hate England.

Further on yanks just not understanding football support... my workmate was saying how it's great that Balogun was reinstated, as supporters should always want their opponent to put out their strongest lineup.

I told her I hope Haaland falls off a wall.

As much as I want Argentina to do it again, I’ll take them bottling it in the next couple of games if it means we don’t have to put up with the Stop The Boats weirdos banging on about the Falklands for a few days. More fucking flags everywhere.
