Senegal robbed, and we were robbed of actual penalties by those Tintin nonces with their penalty at the end. Booooooooo. Quote
Paid Members SpiritOfTheForest Posted July 2 Paid Members Posted July 2 As a Scotsman with several Mexicanos/Mexicanas as friends, firmly hoping they'll do the business. Azteca will be an absolute cauldron and the Mexican people are just so lovely. And, for what it's worth, they're buzzing they have drawn England! Really hope they do it. Not like i have my own team to cheer for any more or something... Quote

Paid Members SpiritOfTheForest Posted July 2 Paid Members Posted July 2 A fair comment but I do legit have several Mexican pals. No Congolese though, hence why I didn't post before that game. Quote

The rhino who said "I know! we'll call it Um Bongo!" The python who picked the passion fruit! The marmoset, the mandarin! The parrot who painted packets! CAN YOU HEAR ME, the parrot who painted packets?? Your boys took a hell of a beating! Quote
TibBo Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Mexico is ace! I've been there a ton of times and got married there. Probably my favourite place I have ever visited. Every time I have ever been it has been scorching, but it was 14 degrees for the match yesterday. I don't think the stadium is going to cause us an issue as much as their pace in the first 20 minutes. If we can weather that storm we might be ok. Half the Mexican team don't play in Mexico for their domestic clubs anyway. Jimenez plays in sunny Wolverhampton. Quote
NeverYield Posted July 2 Posted July 2 I think we scraped it in the end there, a win is a win so thats certainly positive, a 2-1 win is comfortable enough but i do worry against Mexico Quote

You're having a laugh if you don't think the altitude won't have an impact on the England players. Quote

I would agree, my brother thought I was being "too negative" during the game, I didn't like what I was seeing at all through most of it, but ultimately we did win hence the comfortable "enough" but in general that was a shambles imo. Let's be honest, if it wasn't for the goalie playing out of his skin with some incredible saves, England would've had that done a lot more comfortably. I don't think they performed anywhere near a high level, and Congo were brilliantly drilled and disciplined, but the keeper kept them in it. Quote
