deathrey Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Thrilled to see Norway go through. The game went on for-fucking-ever though, the added time after the penalty really pissed me off. Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted July 5 Paid Members Posted July 5 I had Brazil in a sweepstake, but still cheered when he missed the stutter-step penalty. Twat. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted July 5 Paid Members Posted July 5 A hill I'll die on is that if you need to rely on a stutter and can't just do a run-up-and-belt-it penalty, you're not good at penalties. A good penalty taker can pace up and place it without being a fanny and having to rely on tricks. Glad to see Brazil out. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted July 5 Paid Members Posted July 5 Yeah it’s on the BBC now. 1am was a big enough ask. Not staying up til 2am on a work night to watch England get walloped. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted July 5 Author Members Posted July 5 Extra hour of Kelly Cates though. Make it another hours delay. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted July 6 Author Members Posted July 6 An all time World Cup classic, what an incredible performance from England. The altitude era. Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted July 6 Paid Members Posted July 6 Woke up at half time to catch the nerviest half of football I've ever seen, so much I had to turn it off when we went down to 10 and conceded the penalty. Turned it back on with a minute left on the clock to us getting hammered with corners. Jesus. Quote
King Mal the Glorious Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Tremendous game, very glad I stayed up for that Quote
MVP RULZ Posted July 6 Posted July 6 What a performance that was Instant Classic World Cup Game, defended like there lives depended on it that last 30 mins Brilliant game of football Quote
Paid Members FLips Posted July 6 Paid Members Posted July 6 Harry Kane's post match interview is exactly what I needed to settle the nerves to get back to bed. Quote
Paid Members hallicks Posted July 6 Paid Members Posted July 6 Tuchel nailed the tactics after the red card. I know it was tense but its not like Mexico were creating lots of good chances. Great performance! Quote

I was absolutely creasing. What a man. Shout out to Jordan Henderson as well. Booked in a match he didn't get a minute in, then it seems he's gone and broke his arm after. What a shift. Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted July 6 Paid Members Posted July 6 I don't think anybody had an England Norway quarter final in their book. Be an interesting one. Quote
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted July 6 Paid Members Posted July 6 All those years of watching 1am wrestling shows then getting up for work on Monday morning trained me well for that. Glad I watched, as it was a terrific game. Plenty of drama to keep me awake! I'm in a funny place with England support, whereby I lost all emotional connection years ago, so genuinely don't care at all if they lose, but that was a good win to see. I thought we would as well, Mexico were massively over hyped. They had a great record, beating mostly weak sides in that stadium, but they're nowhere near England's level. Quote
