Obviously he would prefer to present it to the USA team captain. FIFA tried to give that some help with the whole Balogun situation but ultimately the Belgians put paid to that. Trump definitely doesn't want to present it to an African team, especially an Arabic country like Egypt or Morocco. He'd probably prefer not to present it to a European team considering what he thinks of the EU and Nato. Argentina on the other hand has a president cast very much in the mold of Trump. A nice little sit watching a game he doesn't understand with his friends Javier Milei and Gianni Infantino before presenting the trophy to Messi and at the end of the night taking it back to the Oval Office and putting it next to the trophy that Chelsea aren't allowed to keep. Now that obviously belongs in the conspiracy theory thread but maybe not. Infantino can't give him another peace prize. Quote

The referees don't work directly for FIFA, so do you think they are corrupt and in on something as to why they can't referee that match? Quote

I actually don't think that referees from any of the nations left in the quarter finals should referee any of the other games. That way there can be no question of bias. How do the referees nor work for FIFA? They were selected by the FIFA Referees Committee that was chaired by the FIFA Chief Refereeing Officer. They qualify by refereeing in FIFA tournaments, but you are probably right they don't work directly for FIFA. Quote
