But it was a loose, clumsy tackle rather than a malicious one and the rolling and bouncing over the ball has made it look worst. It’s the usual milquetoast post-match replies and then he gets a bit snippy after Gabriel Clarke’s shit stirring. Tuchel’s canny enough, he wants to see more in the next game. Bellingham’s just played 100+ minutes in sweltering heat and stifling humidity, it’s natural for him to be defensive about the performance. Quote

I think it's very raw and honest from Bellingham, to be fair, but vanishingly few players have the freedom to say 'whatever' about a managers opinion, or to dismiss it because he 'doesn't know what it's like'. I much prefer Kane's response - admittedly because he's more experienced in front of camera, and more mature as a leader - of accepting the managers position and still finding a way of praising the team. Tuchel was also absolutely right. Bellingham has obviously been star man on the pitch, but I think Tuchel's tournament has been exceptional. Quote

It helps that i'm only half an England fan, as I was brought up forced to support England when with my dad and Ireland when with my mum, but i'm actually disappointed it's not the final. I know this might not be universally popular in England, but if England can't win the whole thing Argentina would be my second choice. I like the idea of Messi getting consecutive World Cups. Quote

Both winners, both have an elite mindset and I think there's been some crossed wires for a start. Anyway England were pretty poor I thought, apart from Bellingham, but you find a way to win when you're not performing. It's mad though that every England goal in the tournament, bar one from Rashford, have been scored by Kane or Bellingham. I'm not particularly an England fan either but watched it with my youngest and we watched it in public and both had a laugh (not as many drunk twats as you would think) We nearly combusted when Djed Spence charged down that keeper. Build a state of him IMO. England beat that Argentina team, but never fear you anti English folk, they won't beat France or Spain. Edited July 12 by SuperBacon Quote
deathrey Posted July 12 Posted July 12 I think both Tuchel and Bellingham are fair enough from their own prospectives and I don't think anything Jude said was particularly out of order, some people just want a reason to hate him. England were lucky and didn't perform particularly well but they managed to eek out a win which is what matters. As for Jude's comments, I was sat on my sofa in my underwear with a fan on me in 28 degrees and struggling, they were in similar weather on a football pitch for 120 minutes. Professional athletes or not, that's going to take it toll when you're acclimatised to the weather in Stourbridge. They got the win, that's what counts. As per usual, the press will blow this out of all proportion. England would no longer be in the tournament if it weren't for Jude Bellingham, he has been the star player by far. Quote
