What an absolute brain-fart Tuchel has had, both for the substitutions, and for the failure to get attacking players on the pitch the moment the equaliser went in. They shipped several shots on goal leading up to that, and were looking shaky. It's not like the team weren't handling Argentina well before the defensive substitutions. Very stupid.

You cannot sit that deep for 30+ minutes. You cannot sit with 6+ defenders and get deeper and deeper without an outlet. You can maybe do that against Mexico who will just put in shit crosses, but against a team who have won a World Cup and won't give up? Come on Thomas mate.

Negative subs made too early and negative instructions given too early.

Got Konza on and then playing at RB when he’s not one. Can’t cross a ball for shit. Bad positioning for the Martinez goal.

Spence has got a lot of shit over the World Cup. But he probably made the best tackle of the tournament and was a real positive in the match for me.

Surely if you're going to try and hold onto a lead you'd want to try and keep the ball rather than just hoofing it away? Especially for half an hour. Ridiculous. At least go for a second.

Messi might not have scored, but he was involved in both goals. Depending on what time it's on I might actually watch the final, although I think I'm at Vicky's on Sunday night.

That game ought to be a sackable offence for Tuchel. Absolute tactical sabotage. He got away with murder throughout the tournament to he honest, England were rubbish more often than not, with absolutely no midfield control or progression in any of the games.

Absolutely ridiculous second half, tactically inept, and why park the bus that early? In the semi finals of a world cup...

Tuchel just done what Southgate got hounded for..

If taking Gordon off for Konsa was bad but then taking Rice off and then conceding 3 minutes later.

Rule of Arteta you never take Rice off ever until he has to be carried off.

Tough on to take considering how it happened. Tuchel got it completely right for 72 minutes then completely wrong for half hour. Brutal.

He'll talk about not having the players he needed available (and hope people forget that it was because he didn't pick them) and it being a long term project. "Look how well I did in only my first major tournament in charge. We can build on this for the future."

The FA will give him more time. The usual suspects will blame it on there not being enough "English" players in the England team.

At the hydration break I was looking forward to him being in on some fresh attacking legs. I thought we had them on a plate if we went for the kill.

After all that is what we were promised. In the big games, deep in the tournament, the system allowed us to press our advantage and play. Kill the game.

so honestly I just feel betrayed. That game management from the hydration break was worse than anything Southgate ever did. Absolutely unforgivable to think we could hold out.

once they equalised, what was his plan? We had 6 defenders on the pitch. How would we ever score?

I don’t even blame the players. It’s entirely on Tuchel’s head.

To be fair, he then took off two defenders and stuck on two out-and-out attackers, so even if we equalized, we were likely fucked.
