Paid Members SpiritOfTheForest Posted July 15 Paid Members Posted July 15 We in Scotland thank Herr Thomas Tuchel for making it that we can safely turn on a television set for the rest of our lifetimes. The relief. I can actually enjoy the final now! Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted July 15 Author Members Posted July 15 I think the biggest crime is that Thomas Tuchel let Chest down in what must be the first football game he's watched in 4 years. Disgraceful. Quote
Paid Members Lion_of_the_Midlands Posted July 15 Paid Members Posted July 15 Why did anyone expect any different. The teams ranked 1-4 in the world rankings made it to the semi finals as they should. The number 1 ranked team beat the number 4 ranked team and the number 2 ranked team beat the number 3. Everyone has played to their ranking. It's not disappointing its inevitable. Quote

That's the joy and the pain of it all. Even yesterday, so many people bigged France up and then what happened? They were barely there. You never know, and that's why there's always hope and expectation. Quote

RIDDUM_N_STYLE Posted July 15 Posted July 15 Monumental fuck up by Tuchel, it should have been Burn or Konsa on not both and what an insult to Ivan Toney having him out there for weeks only to give him 5 mins in stoppage time Saturday will be an utter dud, neither team will play their first 11 and one manager might not even be arsed period given he’s already been replaced Quote

I don't mean people who post here, but social media will have more than a few dickheads posting on there tonight about how the reason England didn't walk this World Cup will be because of how "multicultural" the squad is. Hopefully not to the extent they did after that penalty shoot-out in the European final against Italy, but there will be, and it's disgusting. Quote

That game management from the hydration break was worse than anything Southgate ever did. Absolutely unforgivable to think we could hold out. once they equalised, what was his plan? We had 6 defenders on the pitch. How would we ever score? In fairness I totally get that. I’ve just been listening to 5 Live after walking home from the pub, and some of the callers are acting like England are plucky underdogs lucky to be there. Lads, you literally have Premier League starters at least 2-3 deep in every single position on the pitch. Yet fan opinion seems to veer violently between “Argentina (the World Champions) are rubbish, we’ll have them” and this massive conservatism. Some of Tuchel’s tactics were shit I’d do with Wales, and we have fucking League One players in our squad. Edited July 15 by garynysmon Quote

Tennessee Moltisanti Posted July 15 Posted July 15 England had 12% possession from Gordon's goal until Martinez's winner. From 55th minutes to 92nd minute. Probably should have brought more defenders on. Quote

You are just getting angry at a scenario you have made up in your head. Social media is full of blame for Tuchel just like the rest of us. Quote
Moderators neil Posted July 16 Moderators Posted July 16 Yeah just felt like the tactic that worked against Mexico, barely worked against Norway, just wasn't going to against a side like Argentina. I was somewhat relieved by the winning goal in stoppage time as I didn't see a path for England other than holding out another 30 minutes and losing on penalties. Quote
