If one of those changes had been, lets say Saka, and his job was to stay on the half way line and wait for any opportunity, sure that works. Unfortunately Tuchel saw how the defence were struggling and giving away opportunities and made the call to throw in another big man to try and support them while they were getting beaten far too easily to crosses flying in. I'm not as annoyed at the switch to bring in Burn to try and counter that threat as I get that idea, but the 10-0-0 formation and nobody even offering some form of outlet was the clincher and I think we all saw that the minute England started to get nervous after taking the lead. England completed two successful passes (Pickford to Stones and back) in nearly 20 minutes of football. honestly, I can't even fathom how this is possible at the highest level. All of the counters I can recall were players running the ball clear, Bellingham and Rogers particularly, and they ended up in touch or with a foul. Lots of kicking the ball to no-one too. Really was the most dreadful management of a 1-0 lead I think I've ever seen. I've watched Hull City give up more leads than I've had hot dinners and I can't think of an attempt that bad. Quote
