I remember the wrasslinedge.com/ukff domain from the summer of 2001 as it was advertised in Powerslam, and thus my introduction to this place. The trusty Wayback Machine wasn’t much help with that really as this was all I could find 😐 Edit: in response to Roy above re old screenshots. If anyone remembers any more specific URLs, might be worth chucking them into the Wayback to see what’s there.

Apologies in advance for treating this place like my old blogspot, but remember this from yesterday? Yeah, that’s all out the window now. My silly old cunt of an old man has been arrested for drink-driving. Proper scumbag behaviour, that. He was actually sober for around twenty years, but fell off the wagon sometime around my brother dying, which I can sort of understand. What I don’t understand however is silly bollocks promising my poor ma he’d pack it in, only to let her down again and again in the intervening eight years. On the plus side, this has given her the kick up the arsehole about selling their gaff, paying off what’s left of the mortgage, and going their separate ways. She’s failed to pull the trigger on this for a while now for fear of starting again at her age (only fifty-eight mind, which is hardly ancient but I 100% understand where she’s coming from), but his drink-driving escapades today have made her mind up. She’s already made the call to her sister who works in the legal game to see what she has to do to get the ball rolling. He left for work this morning with a black eye as my poor ma, absolutely fed up, gave him a dig when he arrived home from work last night stumbling around the place having drank a whole bottle of Captain Morgan’s. Erm, we still up the ma’s on that?

This feels somewhat insensitive given the nature of the posts above me regarding shithouse Sheeran, but I’m absolutely over the moon right now. I’m home for a few days and last night I caught up with an old school friend who I haven’t seen for twenty-two years. I was dreading it a bit beforehand as it’s been so long, but that fucker gave me the biggest hug when we met and instantly I was transported back two decades. We chatted the arse off each other reminiscing about times old, and I can’t tell you the last time I laughed so much. He didn’t even mention my balding head, bless him. I’m still absolutely buzzing, though that may have something to do with the twelve pints of Guinness. Life’s alright sometimes.

A quick update on this as I’m home for a few days. She still hasn’t paid. Not only that, but the blinds are pulled 24/7 so the inspector can’t nose in. What with the slight sliver of sunlight peeking in combined with the backlight of the telly glowing off the back wall, it’s like living in a crack den. She’s in this for the long haul. Still, up the ma’s ✊

I’m more taken aback by the Ronnie Whelan and Kid Rock combo to be honest. That is a mad collection of people.

I feel your pain. We lost that sweet sweet 2.23% from when we first bought, and approx. 4,5% was the best they could offer when we last renewed. It didn't add on as much as yours, but Christ it was enough to sting. We're in a cycle of fixing every two years in the hope that rates may drop, but we're kidding ourselves really.

There’s a freeview station called ‘That’s TV’ that’s constantly on at work in the dinner room, so on breaks over the last year or so, we’ve ran the whole run of Man About the House, Rising Damp, and Goodnight Sweetheart. Shows some top-notch old CH4 grot late at night too.

I really admire people who adopt or foster, but its just not for us.

Quick update on my couple of IVF-related posts in this thread over the last few years; we had a talk over the weekend, and for reasons I'd rather not get into, we've decided to throw the towel in. We're absolutely heartbroken. I'm sure in time we'll see the positives of a child-free future, but I cannot for the life of me see it now. Absolutely and completely gutted.

Delighted with that point. Early days obviously, but Delap looked the absolute business in the short time he was on. Him and McAtee could be a dream pairing. The Hungarians have had a go, bless ‘em. The bacon was a solid 5/10, but the rest of it tasted as rank as it looks. I’ll be sticking to the pastries for brekkie for the remainder of the week.
