Maybe it's the fact I've watched way too much of this shit the past few weeks. Or it's more likely the 'third place goes through', 'head to head over goals difference' and 'lets play a staggering 36 group matches to eliminate only 1/3rd of the lineup' has taken its toll. A real drama of a penalty shootout Havertz and Woltemade with terrible penalties. Musiala shouldn’t have been on the pitch to take his. Pressure far too much for Sanabria to get the win and that’s when I thought they have fucked it… Tah sending it over the bar in sudden death is what done them in and Paraguay finally get over the line after Canale scores At least the shootout gave some life to the game. The post getting a battering, Verbruggen scoring an own goal, Bounou’s save from Summerville. Wonderful watch. Game was alright. Quite feisty at times. Verbruggen made some great saves.
