Paid Members DCW Posted July 29 Paid Members Posted July 29 Brutal. I remember seeing him and the late great Mic Christopher busking on Grafton Street in Dublin in the mid 90s and they were magic. The Frames Set List album is still one of my favourites & was incredible seeing him win an Oscar for Falling Slowly a decade or so later and even featuring in a Simpsons episode. He did an awful lot for homeless charities in Dublin over the years as well. The Christmas Eve busk for The Simon Community with Bono and the lads got all the attention, but he was always helping out with lots of other charities. Terrible way to go, especially with him having such a young child. Quote

Hansard is just one of those stalwarts of music - many great contributions to the art, but for me, what I remember in particular was his version of On Raglan Road; it was truly unique and moving. Kavinsky I know less about, but I've heard a bit of his work; what I heard had a very nostalgic quality for me, so I will try and listen to more. A tragic day for two families, and a truly sad one for music. RIP. Quote
