Superb as Cardinal Wolsey in The Tudors, the cold fish husband in The Piano, the voice of Molloy the cat burglar in The Simpsons, Major Campbell in Peaky Blinders, and, of course, as Dr. Alan Grant. Didn't know he'd had cancer; glad to know he beat it before he died. Politically, sounded like a decent guy too. RIP. Quote

deathrey Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Sam Neill in Jurassic Park is a key memory from my childhood, a film I can't wait to revisit with my kids when they are old enough - my eldest is already obsessed with the soundtrack. He was amazing in The Tudors, embodied Cardinal Wolsey so well that when I read books with Cardinal Wolsey in them, Sam Neill is who is seeing in my minds eye. RIP Sam. With him and Katherine O'Hara both passing, two people who had prominent places in the films of my childhood, good lord its making me feel old. Quote

This is in no way a comment on Sam Neill's acting, but I watched Sirens at least 50 times as a teenager and I couldn't have even told you that Sam Neill was in it.
