Chili Posted January 30 Posted January 30 She was just really bloody good AND extremely consistent at not being in stuff that's shit. I always like the story of her getting hired for SNL in 1982, but then drafted in (and soon sacked) producer Michael O'Donaghue completely weirded her out as he was to do with people, she thought everyone was dragging their arses and just fucked off home after a week to do more SCTV. Always Kevin's mum for me. She's absolutely brilliant in that role at being both really funny (her sequence of expressions in 'Kevin's not here' are great), but also the dramatic turns she gets to put in there. I used to cry as a kid when she found Kevin again in the sequel. It's just a really lovely scene. Quote

I love everything about the show but she is the highlight. Every line delivery cracks me up and I cannot hear the word “baby” without hearing her in my head. Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted February 2 Paid Members Posted February 2 Seeing the talk of Toni Storm possibly shaving her head in on-topic and thinking of her going full Moira Rose with a collection of wacky wigs reminded me I hadn’t posted in here. Proper gutted me. One of only a couple of celebs my wife cried when hearing the news. For most of us our introduction was Home Alone or maybe Beetlejuice. But it was seeing her in Best in Show back in 2001 that made me take notice. After that I went and watched Waiting for Guffman and A Mighty Wind when that came out. As others said she always elevated whatever she was in. Schitts Creek became a firm favourite and a show we’ve watched through thrice. And her role in The Studio has been great so far. I’m only a few episodes having started in a couple of weeks back. Great actress and one of the funniest. Very sad to lose her so young. Quote

He wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea on comms, but I always enjoyed him. Never got bored of “where’s the cue ball going”. Loved watching him doing his trick shots on Big Break as a kid. My dad had a VHS of his trick shots that I would always watch too. Quote

Paid Members Jesse Posted February 4 Paid Members Posted February 4 Watching late afternoon/evening TV with my grandparents is one of my favourite childhood memories, and Big Break was one of the ones I really loved - would have been about 8 years old and absolutely obsessed with John Virgo. Was delighted to later start watching snooker and realised he was a real person from it, not just a TV actor I guess? My sports watching is very inconsisten these days but I'll always stop my TikTok scrolling when I hear a "Where's the cue ball going?!" Quote
