It's weird to remember how much of a phenomena Dilbert was for a while - in terms of cartoon strips going mainstream, it was up there with Garfield, Calvin & Hobbes and The Far Side. I loved it for years, and it was something my dad and I were both into. I read his first couple of books and liked them (the whole bit about unorthodox thinking and gravity was something I found useful in terms of not taking things for granted, but Christ, it would have been easy to wander from there to red-pilldom). Then he found the internet, had a stroke and LOST HIS FUCKING MIND. Either revealed himself as a staggering racist or became one, and just spent years being an absolute piece of shit. If you haven't listened to it, the Behind The Bastards podcast about him is well worth a listen. Quote

Paid Members Jazzy G Posted January 14 Paid Members Posted January 14 Yeah, Dilbert was great but Adams pissed it all away. I used to have a box set of the Dilbert cartoon on VHS. It was a fun show. As said previously, about 10 or so years ago it would have been a terrible loss, but now it's just another death. Which isn't to say people won't be affected by his passing, but I'm not as bothered by it as I would have been. It's gone from "Oh dear, Scott Adams has died" to "Oh, Scott Adams has died." as something of an aside. Quote

Just such a funny, warm, instantly recognisable presence in anything I’ve seen her in. Home Alone 1 and 2 are my favourite Christmas films, and as others have said she was fantastic in Schitt’s Creek, Beetlejuice and Nightmare Before Christmas too. There are some really touching videos of her and an adult Macauley Culkin, including one at his walk of fame induction. She’ll be sorely missed by a lot of people I would think. Quote

So many amazing films. Looking at Letterboxd she may have been the actress in the most 5 star ratings I've given (Beetlejuice, After Hours and Nightmare Christmas). Quote
