Just saw a message from his son. He was a fascinating guy and the impression he left on the park is a fantastic legacy. Interacted with him a bit as I’m still trying to write a book about it. But his work was amazing and it’s still the most beautiful Main Street at a Disney park. Was only in his sixties as well. Big shame.

James Ransone, best known as Ziggy in the second season of The Wire, died two days ago, aged 46. Ziggy was a great character and one of the best things about the second season.

Such a shame, a very talented actor. He was one of the highlights of the terrible IT Chapter Two. He had a fun cameo in The Black Phone. And I’d say check out the underrated Generation Kill of which he was one of the main stars.

I'm always reminded when I see him that my Dad's favourite joke when I was growing up was "you know Chris Rea is teaming up with Dire Straits to form Dire Rea"

He had another variation on Whoopi Goldberg and Peter Cushing having a baby.

Given the time of his passing he'll likely always be most associated with the Christmas song, but let it not be forgotten that this (particularly the full version) is a fucking brilliant tune:

Sad news about Chris Rea, saw him live in 2006 and he was really good, an excellent blues guitarist

Considering he had his pancreas removed in the early 2000’s and it being touch and go if he would pull through, it is some achievement that he lived for as long as he did.

For anyone wanting to deep dive and avoid the usual, Driving Home For Christmas etc. I recommend Dancing Down The Stony Road album, a great double album
