jm29195 Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 Re, Nemeth's papers, the timeline is all wrong at the end. It says that Punk left AEW in 2024 (and also Nemeth wrestled his last match for AEW in 2024). Errors like this won't help him. Quote

Pro wrestler in "not catching factual inaccuracies matter in court cases" shock. They think they can carny their way out of/into any outcome they want. Quote

Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted February 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 27, 2025 I'm not going to put this in spoiler tags because it's not in relation to an actual storyline on Raw but if you're hyper-sensitive about Raw spoilers then don't read this. https://www.si.com/fannation/wrestling/wwe/chicago-teachers-union-responds-to-cm-punk-s-shirt-from-wwe-raw I'm surprised nobody's really talked about this because it's significant for a few reasons. Firstly, it's the first 'political' item Punk has worn since he returned to WWE, something he did a few times in AEW. Even more so because it's a reference to a union, which is the dirtiest word you can use in wrestling, but especially so considering this particular union has been very openly vocal in their opposition to Linda McMahon's recent appointment. Feels like a pretty big moment for everyone involved. Quote

Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted February 27, 2025 Paid Members Posted February 27, 2025 (edited) @Devon Malcolm it’s also the same union Hangman Page donated his winnings from a battle royale he won a few years back. Maybe this was Punk publicly addressing he’s made up with the millennial cowboy* *he hasn’t. Edited February 27, 2025 by Hannibal Scorch Quote

Chili Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 I doubt he's in any trouble yet as Triple H hasn't read and researched the shirt yet to have an opinion, Taker saw a torch on it, so he's fine, and Road Dogg simply can't read it. Quote

Merzbow Posted March 8, 2025 Posted March 8, 2025 Now that Punk is fully back into the groove, both in ring and on the mic is there any one else actually as good as him? I know it's another Hangman comparison but they're both equally as perfect for me, shame they couldn't get on. Quote
Paid Members LaGoosh Posted March 8, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted March 8, 2025 Depends on your personal tastes I suppose? There's definitely people I enjoy way more than him at the moment. Quote

His promos are authentic and raw and make you feel excited to watch both his next wrestling match, and all manner of future wrestling matches. In-ring, he’s learnt to work with his physical limitations and do the simple stuff effectively, and really tell great physical stories at a time where across the board people have mostly given up on trying to make the simple stuff matter and don’t tell physical stories, as opposed to building matches around big ‘wow’ moments. Is he the best in the WWE? Probably not. By the above metrics you’d have to argue that Cody Rhodes is at least as good, especially given he has extra athleticism to add to the mix. He’s one of my favourites though, and I hope he’s able to keep the show on the road for another year or so. I want Punk/Cody, Punk/Roman and ideally Punk/Cena before it’s all over.
