Putting up a can no one wants is even worse. Why even talk about the car at all, just a nonsense. They have enough chemistry in ring that it didn’t need a stip that the guy being challenged didn’t even want. A match for a match sale is plenty

This is AEW though, we don’t get pointless rematches every week, Miro battered Fuego recently, why should he get a shot at the TNT title after the previous match? He’s low in the rankings too.

If we’re going to ask that we might as well ask why he got a shot to begin with considering that his only win to that point was a tag match with he & Marko Stunt beating Baron Black & Ryzin (whoever they are). But as @LaGooshmentioned, they’ve gone more with an Open Challenge approach with the belt. Warhorse got a shot when Cody was Champion and he’d never wrestled in AEW (and I don’t think he did again afterwards)

It’s a short term storyline to keep Miro on TV until his next feud comes along, nothing more.

That doesn’t explain why it happened when Miro doesn’t want the car. So the match isn’t really for the car, it’s just a “pointless rematch”. Could easily have been achieved without the car stuff as most challengers are who Miro picks, than anyone challenging him

It is basically that Miro doesn't care about the car, but the opportunity to humiliate Fuego on TV and take his car, which he worked so hard to earn, is too good to pass up. Fuego was desperate to get another shot, so put the one thing he cherished most and worked to earn up in collateral for it.

It made perfect sense.

Did you miss the backstage segment on Dynamite?

I'm only sad we didn't see Miro systematically destroy the car for 10 minutes. Hopefully on a future show.

Have him spend an entire episode of Dynamite smashing it up. Keep cutting to the back to see Miro absolutely wrecking the thing. Then at the end of the show, once he's finished and exhausted, Eddie strolls up and DDTs him on the bonnet. Muttley laugh to camera. PPV rematch.

Honestly though, two pages talking about this car is ridiculous. It was a prop for a silly angle to get Fuego over as a hyped-up babyface, Miro as a horrible bastard, and put Sammy in the running for the belt. It worked a charm.

Rest of the show was OK.

There's something adorable about the Butcher slightly flubbing and just pushing guys as hard as he can into the floor, but I'm still waiting for that one big move or match where everything comes together for him, because look at him.

Cassidy angle was fine, but a guy with a lackadaisical gimmick should not be doing anything resembling a run-in. Hardy could've buzzed that 'fan''s hair clean off by the time Orange got there to 'make the save.'

Womens match was better than their average. They're getting their money's worth from those brass knuckles this month, having just come off Blade vs Orange.

Baker vs Soho on the mic was incredibly frustrating. Each segment built really well, then they took the low road worked-shoot shit every time. Schoolyard "oh no she did-ent" crap. Good to see Baker make a big thing of hugging Big Tone. Do we think she starts associating with the Elite?

I also think they missed a trick not having Britt say that he was sleeping with her during that segment. Although I might have just missed it.

If Miro doesn't mention that he had sex with his wife in the car then why did we have the stipulation.

But he was so motivated when he saw one of his fans being treated the way he was that he got to the ring quicker than usual. It shows how much he cares about his fans making him a great babyface
