Aye, Messi moving to another team is definitely the right time to start expecting FFP to be adhered to, and question how his next club can afford his mental wages, and why have they only accounted for about 50% of his real wage in their accounts.

More than a club but not as much as Messi it would seem.

There’s only one team rich enough to sign him and Messi would love to play alongside Matt Doherty.

If Messi signed a 3-year contract, on wages of £600,000 a week, it'd equate to £93m, with no more outlay...if my maths are right. Clubs have done worse deals than that. This assumes that he triggers the 'free transfer' clause he apparently has in his current contract. Fuck-tonne of merch' opportunities there too, for whichever club he ends up at. Before anyone asks, I clawed £600,000 / week out of the air. No idea what his wages are, or his demands would be. If it's less, even better for someone.

Yeah, free transfers are never free you just pay the fee to the player and agent instead. If a player is sought after enough you’d imagine it’s a pretty hefty fee.

Do we have a Fantasy Premier League Thread on here? I appreciate this isn't probably the place to ask, but I couldn't find owt because us Northerners can't use the search function properly.

I’m sure you were all concerned about the plight of Bury FC. Even if you weren’t, this statement is worth your time, trust me.

Good wins for TNS and Bala in the Europa League last night. Plus, Coleraine from the north of Ireland who beat Maribor.

Bala vs AC Milan in the next round please!

That was big for Coleraine to get through there. Shamrock Rovers did well to progress also. There's some tasty possible ties for these teams to hope to play in the next round.

When you add TNS, Bala, Rangers, Motherwell and Aberdeen into it, there's a decent amount of representation from the UK and Ireland in the next round.
