MEGABUCKS
The NBA has suspended the rest of the season until further notice. Maybe the XFL, WWE and other leagues will have to follow?
Paid Members BigJag Posted March 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted March 13, 2020 https://www.xfl.com/articles/xfl-statement Looks as if the XFL have given up on this season. They should be back in 2021. Shame really the games I had seen were never boring.

The Wildcats were just about to mount their huge comeback too!
Paid Members The Ratt Posted April 10, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted April 10, 2020 It looks like the XFL V2.0 might be done for good https://www.espn.com/xfl/story/_/id/29021347/xfl-suspends-operations-lays-employees-no-plans-return-2021
DavidB6937
Really disappointing if that's the case. They actually did a fairly decent job this time round.

It’s mad that they were doing alright this time and it’s been killed off by external factors. But selfishly, I’m glad that it means less promotion and crossover stuff on the wrestling. Although I don’t think there was that much this time compared the old XFL.

Yeah they seemed to learn a lot this time round, although who knows what Vince would've attempted to do if it went downhill again.
Snitsky's back acne
So apparently WWE is/was part owner of the XFL despite Vince aaying it was totally separate. Anyone with more knowledge of this stuff know if this could cause trouble with stocks etc?
Paid Members JNLister Posted April 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted April 13, 2020 That's not actually a new revelation: WWE was given the stock as part of the deal with the new XFL company "buying" the rights to the XFL brand from WWE. andrew "the ref" coyne
Yeah. Effectively WWE as a corporate entity owned some class b stock, so in effect WWE still had "no involvement" in the same way I have "no involvement" with HSBC despite having some shares with them. I imagine WWE as a company have multiple shares / investments with other businesses. Plus Im sure it helped with relations with the board members of WWE knowing that XFL success = financial income for WWE as a company. In isolation, I feel sorry that XFL folded in this manner. A real shame.
Angle_fan
Yeah considering it seemed to do fairly well. Maybe his mate Trump will step in to help 😀
Merzbow
So a group including The Rock has just bought out the XFL?!https://www.sportico.com/2020/personalities/athletes/dwayne-the-rock-johnson-buys-xfl-for-15-million-with-redbird-capital-1234610422/ Edited August 3, 2020 by Merzbow
