The Jocephus bit made no sense to me. Isn’t Cabana a face? Why’s he out with heel Jocephus?

Forgot to mention having similar thoughts. It's been hard to tell throughout if Aldis is a heel or a face. He's often a prick but then plays for cheers at times. James Storm battered Jocephus but then cut a heel promo last week. You're right about Cabana.

The Dawsons, Jocephus and Sandow seem very obvious heels. Drake, Tim Storm and that kid who beat Trevor Murdoch last week seem obvious babyfaces (even though Storm resorted to a low blow on Aldis on the first show). The rest are a bit all over the place.

True, but I thought that was an excellent part of the storytelling, especially following Storm's promo where he basically said that the World title defined him as a wrestler. With the "win or never challenge again" stip, it makes sense that even a babyface, particularly one of Storm's age, would resort to such desperate measures.

Is Aron Stephens' gimmick that he wants to pretend he's in massive Hollywood movies but they're actually porn parodies? That'd be a heck of a gimmick. You can tell he's having fun with it, and if the wrestlers themselves are into it then it can make it easier for the fans to enjoy as well.

The match between Kaleb Conley and that heel lad was entertaining enough. Good to see them trying to establish some newer guys as well as the ones that usually turn up.

Tim Storm's love for wrestling comes through in every one of his promos. You can tell he's speaking from the heart rather than a script he's had to learn.  Eli Drake sounds like he's trying to find his own voice, but that Rock impersonation is going to be a hard habit for him to break.

Aldis lsounded like he'd maybe been struggling with a day of taping and was feeling a bit tired.

Spiritual Advisor and The Mark were a bit weak sauce. Jocephus appears to be just sonme kind of comedy job spot guy now, but I seem to recall them having to use loads of smoke and mirrors in his matches.

The Dawsons have names now. Dave & Zane. There's always a Dave. I don't get how it's an upset when an established tag team beat two guys who'd never teamed before. I guess they  need building up ahead of what I presume is their match with Kingston & Homicide at the PPV,  or inevitably getting fed to the Rock & Roll Express somewhere down the line.

Not a bad show. It'll be interesting to see what happens next with Storm, Aldis, Drake etc.

I'm undecided on whether that Damien Sandow bit was absolute genius or hokey shite. He looked like a muppet, his promo was pure panto and that video was fucking horrific but I'll be honest, I laughed.

It took it as it was deliberately hokey shite but that's why I loved it.
Sandow's 'I am a serious actor!!' could be the gimmick I never knew I wanted.

I had honestly never seen Tim Storm prior to this series other than pictures etc but he is just THE ultimate babyface isn't he?

Agreed it was probably the 'weakest' of the shows so far but still a nice easy watch.

I enjoyed the episode generally. It was however their weakest show to date.

Mirroring most of what’s been said already.
- The womens match wasn’t very good. It came across like a trainee match. If they are, then they possibly should have said as much on commentary, rather than “She’s influenced by grunge” fuck off. Not a great outing, but the show did get better, in general.

- I thought the Kobly vs Parker match was a decent match. You can tell both of them probably enjoy a good bit of high flying, but they restricted themselves to fit with the show, and it worked well. Solid match.

- I thought the Tim/Eli promo was spot on as a stand alone until “I’ll think about it”, but then I thought, hang on, Drake is just slotting himself in to ever possible opportunity here. So both he and Tim are now arguably a tag team, so does that mean he’s not involved in the title picture?

I think the tag match was a really good bout, possibly the best match of the series, following Storm/Aldis.

Vanishing hair promo was a miss for me. Just stick to wrestlers advertising products. They should have used the likes of Austin Idol to promote the DVD offer, and upcoming shows.

To be honest, a lot of the booking is hit or miss, but I can live with that being 3 episodes in. It could benefit from a round up show on the weekend, with promos laying out the land. Just prepping you for the week ahead.

Im still fully on board and looking forward to next week.

TBH I quite like the idea that there's only an hour of product a week to consume.

I hate how the economics of wrestling have been turned on their head to such a degree that its getting harder and harder to simply be a casual fan and dedicate a couple of hours a week to wrestling.

With promotions trying to wring every penny they can from the smaller fanbase, what's with this perception that any fan nowadays has to spend all their disposable income and free time on attending shows/ buying ppvs / and on streaming services, leaving no time for any other hobbies?

Even that kid who beat Murdoch wasn't that obvious a face in my opinion. Wasn't he making comments that people shouldn't feel bad that they're not as young, talented and good looking as he was?

I really enjoyed this again. The only part I didn't really care for was Colt Cabana being allowed to come out and act like a fanny, plus I didn't understand what his connection to Joceyphus was anyway?

Otherwise it was really good. The women's match was alright although the both of them looked a bit nervous, which is understandable. The vignette for that one coming in, and I forget her name now, was nice and effective and well made.

The main event tag match was really enjoyable and I like the storyline they're developing with Tim Storm now. I don't mind what they're doing with Nick Aldis because they're treating him like he's still new to the viewers and I can see a blow off incident with him at some point.

Just a really breezy and undemanding hour of wrestling with a good mix of talent and actual good announcers, and an enthusiastic and non-twatty crowd. The first time I've actively sought out a regular wrestling show for over eight years. It's terrific.

A bit premature, certainly, but Corgan and Lagana have stated openly that they want to get their product to a point where they can get it on to the Network. I'm not saying I think that will definitely happen - I'm really hoping not - but Corgan's one of the people in the industry that could most likely accomplish that, given his profile, resources, and expertise in entertainment

Yes, getting a wrestling show in the WWE network is very similar to getting to finger Courtney Love in exchange for writing an album for her, uncredited.

I thought it crossed the line a bit this week into weak parody. The fake adverts were horrendous and some of the little touches on the graphics felt like a pisstake. Women's match wasn't worked well, even for a squash, the Dawsons' are a dreadful promo and the Colt Cabana stchick was shit too. Aldis and Galli doing almost the exact same promo as last week got old already, especially with Aldis's faux delivery.

Thought the Tim Storm dilemma, Eli Drake's promo and the end cliffhanger after the shock finish was their best work. they're doing a good job with that although no idea where it goes.

I'm undecided on whether that Damien Sandow bit was absolute genius or hokey shite. He looked like a muppet, his promo was pure panto and that video was fucking horrific but I'll be honest, I laughed.

Exactly my thoughts on this episode. I really don’t know what to make of Sandow at this point, but I think I enjoyed it.

I liked the show all in all and even the shittier stuff (commercial aside) fits in with the 80s cheese.

I’ve no idea what that Cabana skit was about though.

I presume the Cabana skit was to build to either Cabana or Anderson Vs James Storm at some point in the future. If they were on WWE Network they'd be calling them "CabAnderson" next week.

Fun and easy watch again this week. They are going to need a lot more guys on the roster if they intend to keep this going in the long term though.

Think I would prefer it if they didn't go down the parody route with the ad inserts. The retro presentation of the show is kitsch enough without needing to throw in deliberately crappy looking stuff just for lolz.

I enjoyed it too, as I have every week so far.

The Cabana angle can be explained as he's niave clown who came out for horseplay with Josephus to enthuse the crowd only to be cheap shotted by the bad guy. It suited both characters for me, but I agree that Cabanas comedy is a bit lame.

It's the first weekley wrestling show I've looked forward to in a long time, so no matter where it goes long term, I appreciate it for that.
