Bit of cracking from trying to move it but otherwise came out well. This might send @Ralphy over the edge...

I just meant the giant biscuit, but the inclusion of the cow on the malted milk surely makes it a double whammy.

Paid Members tiger_rick Posted June 13, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted June 13, 2020 Heavy day on here and in the real world. We had a lovely walk out, chippy dinner and made Madeleines. First time using my tin. Came out well.

Don't have any pics but the recipe was 300g self raising flour, 300ml milk, 1tsp baking powder, 1tbsp caster sugar and 2 eggs. I whisked the dry stuff together, mixed up the eggs and milk, brought it altogether and then left it for about 15 mins before I used it. Just came out perfect. Did these again, got some pics this time. Really great recipe.

Rey_Piste
I am just reminded of one of those woolly dresses put on a doll to hide big roll like my nan used to have.
Keith Houchen
Confession time. I’ve never deep fried anything before. I’m going to make some deep fried tofu, I know how to prepare the tofu and I’ve got the vegetable oil and the wok. But what do I do with the oil afterwards? Is it good to reuse or do I dispose of it, and if so, how? I can’t just tip it down the sink!
Paid Members gmoney Posted July 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted July 2, 2020 You can reuse it a good few times, as long as you're not frying something strong smelling (like fish). Once it's cooled down, strain it, store it and reuse.

I read somewhere that if you don't want to reuse cooking oil you can pour the used stuff into a wine bottle (or similar glass appendage) and bin it
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted July 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted July 2, 2020 Yeah, I normally use old jam jars to bin it but I use it a few times first.
Paid Members BigJag Posted July 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted July 2, 2020 Bin it? Please take used oil to the local refuse centre. They have a big drum where it can be disposed of.

The politeness of this post means I'm definitely going to do this with my unwanted cooking oil next time.
