Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted May 2, 2024 Paid Members Posted May 2, 2024 Bunch of the work lot and friends are on super long shifts Bank Holiday weekend and I don't expect them to eat well at all, so spent the afternoon batch cooking Roast Dinners for the next few days. Naturally had to have mine tonight, and take a photo because its one of my better efforts. Quote
Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted May 4, 2024 Moderators Posted May 4, 2024 I got an electric mincer. So obviously I made three and a half kilos of sausages... I don't find time to make them as often as I'd like to (this is the first time this year) so this new device is really going to speed up the workflow and hopefully mean I get to make them more often. Donald J Trump Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Not cooked yet, but I fear this is as good as this dish is going to look. Haggis and Turnips. I might wing some potatoes in as well. Bottom of the pile Haggis this, second only to the tinned stuff which I have resorted to before. I've tried sneaking in some decent haggis from farm shops etc but the family won't have it, the cheaper the better for these weirdos. This is actually considered a treat in these parts, before anyone considers getting social services involved. Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted May 8, 2024 Paid Members Posted May 8, 2024 Haggis is delicious. Hope it turns out alright. I found that putting a big dollop of grain mustard in with the neeps gives them a lovely boost of flavour. Quote
Donald J Trump Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 It turned out alright. Its safe to say that while it tasted great, the presentation was borderline offensive so I decided against taking a picture. Mustard in the neeps sounds tremendous, and definitely something I'll try when the pickier eaters are out the picture. Quote

Not wishing to stray into the bap/roll/batch territory but that's a swede you've got there isn't it. A turnip looks like this. Swede big and yellow, turnip, small and white. Me vegetable racist it seems. Quote
Donald J Trump Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 It said swede in the supermarket, it said swede on the packaging. It looked like a swede, felt like a swede and tasted like a swede. For some reason, and it's completely unintentional, whenever I have swede I repeatedly refer to it as turnip. I've no idea why I do this, but yes, that is definitely a swede. Quote
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted May 9, 2024 Paid Members Posted May 9, 2024 (edited) I can honestly say, I do make a good sandwich. Pastrami, cheddar, home made Pickeles, salad, mayo and mustard on a Tesco finest sourdough baguette. Edited May 9, 2024 by Thunderplex Quote

Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted May 10, 2024 Moderators Posted May 10, 2024 Wait, what is it then? Is there some weird sandwich gatekeeping rule I'm not aware of? Quote
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted May 10, 2024 Paid Members Posted May 10, 2024 Pray tell, if it is not a sandwich what in the blue hell is it? Have I invented a new filling transportation system? Should I patent it? Quote
deathrey Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 Surely the rule is that if it's between two slices of bread then it's a sandwich? Quote
