I've only really seen the quotable moment and the reaction to it, but I  love  seeing wrestling fans getting irate about the phrase "fake fights for fun".

Yep, that's what it is.

I always like it when “love for the business” or “the art of wrestling” get thrown out by fans whenever they get pissy.

Can’t be doing with everyone going, “LOL it’s obviously a work,” as if that automatically makes it good. I miss Ronda as much as anyone but if this shitty work-shoot stuff is what she plans to come back with then she might as well not bother. The only reason more wasn’t made her about her moronic work-shoot stuff the last time was because the on-screen stuff was equally as dreadful. It’s counterproductive dross that does nothing for anyone and makes Ronda look like a petty idiot. But hey, as long as you’re working the marks, eh?

I am also angry at her for these tweets and now like her less! She better not come back and go over the women who don’t do stupid tweets like her. I don’t get worked though.

I doubt this means she's coming back anytime soon. She does this every few months and everyone jumps on the "she's lining up a return" bandwagon. Surely if she was coming back, they'd have brought her in for Mania rather than now.

In front of nobody? If this was planting seeds i'd have seen it as just that, starting talk more likely for SummerSlam or something. Not that i think it is. I wouldn't be surprised at all if she's done. Had her fun, made some money, but as much as she enjoyed aspects, the experience soured her on "our great sport". That quote about being dead if you had 300 legit fighting contests in a year is bang on and sounds just like someone who's been involved in wrestling and encountered a load of the toxic, awful culture and personalities within and thought it's not really worth it. Or she just gets a kick out of trolling over the top wrestling fans. I enjoyed her instagram post i must say. Or i'm being worked of course. Only makes me sympathise with her rather than want one of "our girls" like fucking Nia Jax of all people to slap her about.

Because she has a lot of respect for the business and those she worked with, so I really don't believe she'd be doing all this stuff without a purpose. She's not perfect but I don't think she'd do that.

She explicitly said she loves the other wrestlers and wrestling. What am I missing?

I read an article previously that Rousey was born with slight brain damage as her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck for a prolonged period of time during her birth. Add that to a career of being punched and kicked in the head including a couple of high profile brutal knockouts and it maybe isn't that wild of a theory that she just often says things others would think was unusual.

I've previously seen her claim she would comfortably beat 100% of the men in her weight class in MMA, that she believed she had the ability to beat Cain Velasquez, that GSP was only so successful because he was good looking, has went on prolonged rants against domestic abuse before later marrying an (alleged) domestic abuser. In spite of being one of UFC's biggest stars at the time and having been given specialised diva style treatment during her entire time there she also went on paranoid rants about how the TUF season she coached was edited massively to make her look like a bad person. She's not exactly a stranger to doing and saying unusual or poorly thought out things.

That's just it though, isn't it? Once you go all wanky with Russo-style worked shoot stuff I don't care who wins or loses. I don't even care to see the match. All suspension of disbelief is gone. There's nothing to get caught up in. The only way this is, "working," on any type of meta level is if the desired result is to make everyone look a dickhead and kill interest in everything onscreen. I pissed my pants with excitement when cocky, swaggering Becky Lynch squared up and told the unbeatable Ronda Rousey, "I choose you." Once it became about how Ronda would win in a real fight though? Absolute passion killer. I didn't want to see Ronda lose more than before. I just didn't want to see the fight at all because it's stupid fake fighting, don't you know.

I want Iron Man to get his revenge on Thanos because Thanos turned Spiderman into dust. Not because Josh Brolin keeps saying in press interviews that he could beat up Robert Downey Jr in a real fight. Superheroes aren't real, mark.

Who really knows, but Ronda was doing all this "I'm shooting, brother" pish just before she vanished.

If this is to hype her return, while I'm no fan of this sort of angle, it's unquestionably got a lot of people talking.
