Small news items like the retirement of Germany’s Steve Douglass aren’t going to generate pages of stimulating conversation, but are still somewhat relevant to a professional wrestling fan’s forum. After seeing how well the comments and thoughts threads has assisted in giving a general area of posting that saves on hundreds of low level threads, I’ve decided to post one just for smaller, none life changing wrestling news. Let’s be sensible though. Let’s not just copy and paste every bit of worthless shit from the newz sites. Only stuff that will be of interest and at least contribute a small bit of discussion amongst our members. Anything that contains “the feeling is that..” (or similar phrases) is speculative shite and not actual news. Crack on sports fans.

And yet, strangely, you posted no news? This smacks of people wanting to be the first to create a topic when a PPV is announced or something. Pointless.

And this smacks of people wanting to threadshit on Richie without having a real way of doing so. You could have at least mentioned his AIDS.

I agree that a single news thread for things like the German guy retiring, or Kamala's dead foot is a good idea. Hopefully it doesn't get filled up with small UK companies posting kayfabe NEWZ~!

Surely we already have this thread under a different name? EDIT: No we don't, never mind.

Thing is, Kamala being forced to retire is probably worthy of a full on thread seeing as he appeared on WWF TV for a number of years.

The thread is pretty much 3 pages of foot related puns, so I'd say we've proven it wasn't worth it's own thread. It's subjective of course, but having a small news thread means that the mods can move anything they think isn't worth filling the board with into this one.

Does it though?

If Richie had created a topic because he had some minor news to post, and thought "hey, this isn't worthy of a topic, so I'll start a minor news one because it will be useful in future" then fine.

However, he seems to have created it for no reason at all other than wanting to be the topic creator. Are people really going to say "thanks Richie!" for making the topic? I mean really, ANYONE could have made this topic. He doesn't have some thread-making superpowers as far as I'm aware.

So no, it wasn't threadshitting. I just think it's pointless.

I created it as a response to this:

you know that thread for comments and thoughts that dont deserve their own thread.....? this should be there along with all the other things that no one is interested in hearing about.

This was a comment in the German wrestlers’ retirement thread. The thread that is suggested clearly has “no news” in the subtitle, and people have upset other posters / mods by ignoring the subtitle and posting random bits of small news.

I don’t understand what you’re so upset about.

Exactly, and Richie did. It's a useful thread. No need to cry like a little girl.

No, me neither, it's a good idea for a thread if news isn't allowed in the general comments thread.

Richie could be accused of many things, but a post/topic whore is not one of them.

it was threadshitting, whether specifically because it was Richie or just to be 'that guy who shits on a thread for no good reason' there was no good reason for you to declare it to be pointless other than to be a dick. If everyone decides to use it then it has a point, if not then it'll disappear off into history.

Go on, let Richie have some of that sweet thread-making glory.

Let's actually put some fucking news in this thread, then, and let's have it about Cliff Compton, who deserves his own bloody thread anyway:-

There was an incident recently in Ohio Valley Wrestling between Mohammad Ali Vaez and Cliff Compton over the finish of their match that resulted in Vaez screaming at Compton and the boys keeping Compton from attacking Vaez. Vaez would later say that he was not interested in airing dirty laundry to dirt sheets and the boys are behind Compton saying Vaez had no right to talk to Compton the way he did. Everyone is downplaying the episode but knowing the locker room as I do, I would expect Vaez to be punished in some manner.

http://www.examiner....dwin-recovering

Compton's finishing move is now also called the 'Punch 'em In The Balls'.
