Many FT lines get trotted out in our house, and Sybil has her fair share of them. She had a great run for someone living with dementia for so long - not just lifespan, but that she still managed to keep working in some form; those canal journey documentaries she did with Tim West were very enjoyable, and they came across like a lovely pair. She was obviously in a lot of really good, memorable stuff and gave some great performances, but I always think of her as Ellen Burstyn's waitress friend from Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, as I'd count it as one one of my very favourite films.
