Yeah, and there's so much in that with Sid, because he admits to failing a steroid test after trying to get Harvey to give a sample for him. I think he probably saw the writing on the wall too because he probably would've done a bunch of jobs to Warrior and then probably would've been in the Kamala spot with the Undertaker and then a case of "See from there". There was a pretty funny story involving him in the Jim Herd shoot interview when Herd and Sid were at an impasse on money. Sid: "How about I throw you out that window?" Herd: "Try it if you can think you can do it before I shoot you first."

I think what ended up happening with Sid would've happened with Warrior. He would've gotten the Shawn match, won the belt, veered into that high level of credibility he had in '92 when he wrestled Savage and was against Flair, then would've spun off as he always did, much like Sid.

I'd say that they did cost you because of you having to use the holiday and not getting it back.

On the unpaid trial front, I did one at a bar years ago. They interviewed me, had me try it out for an hour or two because I hadn't done it before, then offered me the job. I was applying for it because my current job only offered about sixteen hours. Went back to my current job to let them know I had gone for a job that offered me double that and that I'd be leaving - they offered me forty hours, so stuck with them and thanked the bar for the offer but my situation had improved so wouldn't be joining them. I think not paying me in that situation is perfectly fair.

What ever happened to the uni lecturer who would come in late, fuck about in the office for a bit, head down to the union bar and neck a pint before their first lecture, then realised they'd forgotten to photocopy something they planned on handing out and head off in a small storm of belches and "Fuck!"s? With Malenko and some of the guys mentioned of his ilk, I often think of a Danny Doring shoot interview where he was complaining about getting bad advice from Dean as an agent but finding Ted Dibiase better (even though Malenko had a much longer career doing that). He said something like "What's he really going to teach me? A Texas cloverleaf? I don't know if Dibiase is a better wrestler but... actually, he is...". Dibiase may not have done the moves that Malenko did but I think you got a better overall package out of him.

I thought the "side suplexes" guy was the "for your viewing pleasure" guy just doing an accent.

One of my favourite bits with Lance, which has been commented on by Brian Last and friends on the 605, is the famous split of the New Fabulous Ones. There's the disappointed look when Eddie once again turns on Tommy but I really like the bit where Lance has bought that they are going to try and make it up and they walk off. As natural as it gets, he gets lost in a thought for a moment and looks at something on the back of his hand, then when he looks back up it's happened. "I don't believe it!" I think it was actually Flyboy Rocco. Kinda hated the era that insisted on stuff like Gregory Helms and William Regal.

I was waiting for someone to bring up Flair/Funk - "I Quit". Because it opens up the possibility of War Games '92 and Bret Austin's "I Quit" match also being in the conversation if the matches are of that style too.
