Paid Members garynysmon Posted December 25, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 25, 2024 There aren’t many websites other than BBC Football that I’ve checked at least every few days for the past 15-16 years, which is testament to the brilliant and consistent community here at ukff who keep it going. Hope you all have a few days break at least. Nadolig Llawen. Quote

Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted December 25, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 25, 2024 (edited) What a lovely post @RedTwoster, and I agree with your sentiments to those people you highlighted. All good eggs. And I want to call out @Onyx2 for his IRL friendship, @Devon Malcolm for trying to keep me on the straight and narrow and @Lion_of_the_Midlands who won’t see this because I’m on ignore for secretly being Tony Khan, but I like his nicknaming. This is gonna be a rough Christmas. I thought I finally got a new job after months of searching only to lose out at the final hurdle on Friday. The straw that broke the camels back of my mental health which has been on the rocks for the last few months. I’d even discussed with my wife the idea of spending Christmas Day alone at her mums while her, my wife and kids had their usual very saccharine and fun Christmas because I felt so miserable. But when I discussed with my daughter she wouldn’t have it, so I’m going to do my best to try and enjoy the day through her eyes. But this isn’t about me, Christmas is the Baby Jesus’ birthday, so what finer way to sign this of than to combine 2 of my favourite things, this silly little place and wrestling, as well as the main guy himself with this clip of Jesus dealing out a whooping in the ring. Hope everyone here has a happy holiday season however you celebrate you good eggs! Edited December 25, 2024 by Hannibal Scorch Quote
DavidB6937 Posted December 25, 2024 Author Posted December 25, 2024 @Hannibal Scorch Hope you manage to have an enjoyable day despite things being tough. You've obviously got family and friends who care about you so focus on them for now. The rest can follow. Quote

That's King Herod's music! I hope things turn around for you soon Scorch and that your day is tolerable for you. ----- I can tell I'm getting old. It's nearly 8am and I'm only just finishing my first giant chocolate bar. I just can't put a selection box away by 4am on Christmas morning like I used to. Edited December 25, 2024 by johnnyboy Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted December 25, 2024 Members Posted December 25, 2024 Just had a bit of double cream in my coffee and a handful of jelly tots. Anything goes today. Quote
deathrey Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Jelly tots breakfast sounds like a good idea right now. I'm shattered and want to go back to bed but the day has only just begun. My 2 year old is having the time of his life, my 4 year old is still asleep so they haven't even seen the Christmas Tree yet. My 2 year old might implode with excitement. Have a great day all you lovely lot. Thank you to all the UKFF for being you always, I work from home and you guys are a bit like my colleagues, only I don't secretly hate you all. Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted December 25, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 25, 2024 Merry Christmas to you all. We're all here for life basically now, we've weeded out the chancers and part timers and we're down to the hard core. I say that with begrudging love and respect. xoxo Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted December 25, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 25, 2024 Yesterday I felt sick because my CPAP machine mask didn't seal properly on Monday night so I was exhausted. Have still got presents to wrap. I got so much stuff for my mum. It's only fair after all the years of her spoiling me. Hope you all have a great Christmas. I'm dogsitting tomorrow for Vicky and her mum, then at the weekend I'm off to Wales with Vicky and her family for New Year. I was going to head down a few days later, but the trains are being stupid, to nobody's surprise, so it's just easier if I head down with her. Plus she doesn't like long drives on her own. Quote
Dr. Alan Grant Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Happy Ellen Griswold day to you all. Quote

Paid Members Wretch Posted December 25, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 25, 2024 (edited) Happy holidays, one and all. Bit of a subdued, and honestly a sad one, with my family this year thanks to the antics of my mad sister. That’s a whole other thread. It’s been six years, but I really feel my brother’s death around Christmas more than any other time of year too, as does my mam obviously. She’ll be setting up a place for him at the dinner table again. I’m already eyeing up the crate of Guinness. Cheers! Edited December 25, 2024 by Wretch Quote

I hope you all enjoy your day. Quote
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted December 25, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 25, 2024 Merry Christmas to you all. Hope you all have a nice day or, if you’re not feeling Christmassy, I hope you at least enjoy the break from work. Love this time of year. It’s usually the only time all year that me and my brother and two sisters are all actually together. Usually it’s just me and my younger sister here in Brum, my brother’s in London now and my older sister’s all over the place with work. So it’s the one time we all get together and, better than that, all our kids get together as well. Mad how quick my nephews and nieces are changing but after two minutes it’s like we were all never apart. Obviously my mum and dad love it having us all together as well. It’s just me, Mrs Wand and the kids today. I’m already knackered. My boy had me up at 4:30am this morning. My daughter’s 11 now and likes her lie-ins so she only surfaced from her room at about 8am. The four of us are just gonna have a fairly quiet one today. Watching telly, eating loads and so on. We’ve always done that Christmas Day. Then tomorrow we’ll all be over my mum’s. The siblings, nephews, nieces, in-laws and other halves. My mum’s house is always total chaos on Boxing Day. It’s about this time of day now when all the presents are opened, there’s wrapping paper all over the place and I’ve spent a fortune over the last couple of months, all for this moment. Only for some fat, beardy, red twat to get all the credit. Quote
