Thefatduck Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Cooked up a storm for the family plus in-laws Massive turkey breast (fnarr fnarr), honey mustard ham and the usual array of supportive vegetables. Proud of the gravy and the goose fat roast potatoes. Wonderfully satisfying to provide a banquet for everyone, combined with the wine, I am feeling rather jolly. Just need to work our way through the leftovers. Quote
Paid Members Jazzy G Posted December 25, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 25, 2024 Dinner was massive. My mum, and one of my friends both got me the same present and It's something I already own. I'll get use out of them though. They're little dinosaur figures you put on the end of your cables to make them easier to spot/grab. I'll pop one on my Anbernic charger cables, and if I can find the fast charge cable that came with my huge power bank that I hope I didn't leave in Carlisle at the weekend I'll pop one on there as well. RIDDUM_N_STYLE Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Well Christmas 2024 was a huge success, cracking day at my sister’s, who succeeded where mum has failed for decades, and left me unable to finish a Christmas dinner (I’m blaming it on the halloumi fries I had for starters) but I did manage a slice of triple chocolate cheesecake though My nieces and youngest nephew had a ball playing with each other (eldest is too cool for school), my dog spent the day going from running around my sister’s garden to lying on her couch getting belly rubs from anyone close to her and everyone enjoyed their presents Capped the day off watching the brilliant new Wallace and Gromit film and the final episode of Gavin and Stacy and just had a left over turkey and stuffing wrap with a side of a couple of slices of beef and pigs in blankets and a handful of jelly sweets from the jar mum got me Onto Boxing Day and a day of football which will likely leave me raging come 2.30 once Everton kindly help City out their slump Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted December 26, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 26, 2024 A mostly good Christmas. Good presents, great food, top-level slobbing about in the evening with movies, games, booze, chocolate, and turkey sandwiches. Only blip was my dad knocking the electric carving knife off the kitchen counter, and the blade slicing a section of my hand. Thankfully not a deep cut, and not in a vital place - but it's a serrated blade, so fucking hell did it hurt. Quote
Abe_Knuckleball_Schwartz Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Merry Christmas everyone, was a decent day despite me struggling with mobility due sciatica and my nana having to spend Christmas in hospital and due to this my mum couldn’t really be bothered. Went to my parents at about 1 for my dinner (I had already cooked some roast potatoes in the air fryer for my breakfast, which were the absolute bomb) and my uncle was there. Then just moaned about the crap on TV, Wallace and Gromit was excellent so that is not included! Onto Boxing Day, currently sat watching Heretic and then will catch up a few old Christmas episodes of comedies from the past, it is tradition for me and then watch Forest later on. Quote

Love the way this is phrased Vs the potential severity of the injury. I'm going to go and a massive walk in the New Forest to burn off some of the calories and work up an appetite to consume some more calories. I think today might be the day I make cubanos. Tomorrow will be the day I make turkey and gammon pie. Quote

Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted December 26, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 26, 2024 I fucked up the dehydrated Beef in the air frier but we had Turkey on standby so not a complete disaster, although 4 of us spent 20 minutes trying to work the kitchen drawers open after a rogue set of tongs had become wedged inside. Nearly had to eat Christmas dinner with our hands. Very nice day all in all spent with my disabled bro and the Mrs' parents. First Christmas without both Mam and Dad which was strange but my brother had a good time so that's all that matters. Merry Christmas ya fucking marks. Quote

Paid Members FLips Posted December 26, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 26, 2024 Spending Boxing Day playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which to be frank has been boring so far. That being said I’ve only just got into the open world. Stuffing my face with Toffifee. We usually go up to my wife’s aunt’s for dinner but my wife has drawn a line this year because her family is a 40-50 minute drive away and they all do something on Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day and every one of them is heaving with people and animals. She’s fed up of the expectations of us attending all 3, plus she has an ear infection and has chose we stay home instead which i’m fine with. With her sister having another kid this year that takes the total for Xmas day at her parents up to 11 people, 1 baby, 2 cats and 4 dogs. Plus when aunts and uncles turn up after dinner, it’s around 16 people and a fifth dog. She’s planning on a difficult conversation about not going there for dinner any more because it’s too much for us, which we both expect to go down like a wet fart. Quote
Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted December 26, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 26, 2024 Was with the parents from 10am until around 4pm where I ate a ridiculous amount of food. Then - as I'm not drinking at the moment and absolutely hate being around drunk people when I'm sober - I made my excuses and spent the rest of the day on my own catching up with AEW and ROH. Best Christmas in years. Quote

Lush is class but oh so expensive, my mate's always telling me to just tell her what I want and I get a 50% workers discount. Quote
