  1. LOD vs Nasty Boys. No DQ. No count out. I was SO disappointed by their match at sunmerslam 1991 at madison square garden. I felt short changed and looking back it just didnā€™t click As a kid I rented the video, got a big bag of Revels and settled in for what I hoped would be THE greatest match ever. Two monster teams. Belts on the line. The shoulder pads. The music. The double team moves. Everything. I was hoping they knock seven shades of shit out of each other but it was just meh!!
  2. Very valid points, especially the point about the ā€˜meltā€™, but I feel that the contrast IS one of the defining features of a true crisps sandwich.
  3. TWC definitely rekindled my interest and what made it special was the ability to switch it on and see something that I had never seen before. I can vividly remember turning it on for the first time and not believing it was a channel JUST for wrestling It made access to different types /companies / wrestlers so easy. Combined with the rise of the world wide web wrestling suddenly became expansive, that is, there was more than what you immediately knew about. Japan - had no idea about the companies ROH - never heard of it shoot interviews - blew my tiny mind - ā€˜want do you mean ā€˜worked shoot?ā€™, ā€˜Whoā€™s Kaye Faybe?ā€™ And, I could switch it on with my dad and heā€™d watch WOS and go ā€˜saw himā€™, or ā€˜heā€™s realā€™ or ā€˜thatā€™s Les Kelletā€¦doesnā€™t like his ears touched!ā€™ In short, TWC was like a sampler of wrestling, letting you take a snippet of something and then go away and find more.
  4. Sweet and sour? Mix of textures? This is either genius or criminal.
  5. Iā€™m troubled by the hula hoops in a sandwich. Love the texture and flavour but the shape is quite troublesome in terms of the structural integrity of the bread. I often find they poke through the bread like beefy daggers.
  6. Couldnā€™t agree more. but there are perverts that put mayo on.
  7. Looking for inspiration from the great and the good. What is your go to recipe for a crisp sandwich? Crisps - Which brand? What flavour? Number of packets? Bread - Which brand? How many slices? Crust non crust? Extras - butter? margarine? sauce(s)? Method - Crisps crushed or left whole? Squash the bread or leave light and airy? One slice at a time or two? Iā€™ll go firstā€¦ Crisps - Walkers roast chicken. 1 packet. Bread - 2 slices of Warburtons medium sliced white (dark blue packet) Extras - soft, salted butter spread THINLY Method - layer on a single slice, fold in half, lightly squash
  8. Ajwain seeds steeped in hot water (drain after 5 mins) add honey and a big wedge of lemon. Drink at 5 times a day
  9. Iā€™m giving this thread WAY more thought than i probably shouldā€¦ 1. would I go and watch the last match if it was in the uk? I donā€™t know. Iā€™d like to think no; donā€™t encourage the mad bastard. But.. itā€™s Foley. Heā€™s a legend. 2. Would I pay for the ppv? No. But I would watch highlights on various websites and I would read the no doubt numerous write ups / obituary. - Be honest, would you go and watch it in person? - Would you watch the ppv?

  11. Iā€™m pretty much off social media, what has he actually said. Anyone kind enough to prĆ©cis it?
  12. Iā€™m torn to be honest. on one hand: absolutely should not be in a match. He canā€™t possibly need the money. He absolutely does not need to secure a legacy. He has a very high chance of dying in the ring and/or making his shocking health much much worse. on the other hand: see above. But, and itā€™s a big butā€¦ he may need the idea and focus of having a(nother) match to keep him going. The idea of not training, wrestling and doing what you love for so many years must take an emotional toll and having something to look forward to, something youā€™ve done for so long, must be very tempting. I would wager that itā€™s not the match he wants, itā€™s the idea and target of the match that is so tempting.
  13. Whatā€™s it realistically going to be from Foley (hopefully)? Entrance. Swing a few chairs. Tease some big bumps. Swing a trash can. Spend most of the time on the apron. Get pinned by Matt Cardona. Emotional 15 mins on mic. Family in the ring. Three hours signing $50 8x10 at the merch tables Exeunt.
  14. I agree that it is a unique live entertainment - a great way to put it. Watching it close up, seeing and hearing it is special. Also, seeing a moonsault live for the first time I genuinely thought they would die. Suspension disbelief is easier in person- Oscar Wilde (probably).
