DavidB6937 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Well I've just survived a Christmas Eve party, put the kids to bed and sorted the presents so the count down is on. Hoping the big man comes down all your chimneys! (RIP innuendo topic) Thanks again for all being sound and providing a daily place of fun and laughs and escape. It will always be my go-to and you're a bunch of hilarious people who I often learn a lot from and who are also incredibly supportive and kind too. So whatever your Christmas plans look like, I hope you have a lovely time and here's to 2025 and another year of keeping each other company and wondering what the fuck to do when it dies for a few days. Cheers. Quote
Paid Members Boycie Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 Christmas eve party? The night's only just started. All joking apart, I hope you all have a great Christmas and New year. Quote
Paid Members Lenin Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 Hope everyone has a peaceful few days whatever you are doing. It's been some year for me (good and bad) and the one constant is this forum. I don't post much as I don't have anything thoughtful or interesting to say but cheers for the banter. I've lost count of the number of times reading something on here has made me laugh out loud, usually at inappropriate junctures. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 (edited) My four year old daughter watched Home Alone for the first time before bed. She loved it. Laughed all the way through. But then at the end, when Kevin’s mum returns, she got all caught up in the music and the emotion. A few tears started running down her cheek. “He got his mummy back. They love each other.” I was filling up too. It was the sweetest, cutest thing ever. Until it wasn’t. By the time Kevin and his mum hugged, the whole thing got too much for her, she burst into actual tears, sobbing, then began vomiting everywhere, all over the rug and everyone’s new Christmas pyjamas. It was like The Excorcist, only soundtracked by the end credits to Home Alone. Thanks a lot, Kevin McCallister. I’m Team Wet Bandits 4 Life now. Merry Christmas everyone! Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 Spent most of the day tidying and recycling but we tried out our new air fryer and that was a resounding success. Going to my parents for dinner tomorrow because we managed to get some carer hours for my daughter, and on Friday I'm going to see Spirited Away! Then I realised I saw it at the same cinema when it opened in 2001 when I was at uni! I'm old! Merry Christmas to all of you whom celebrate, and don't forget the new Wallace & Gromit is on tomorrow. Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 Soz for the double post, but Rhodri Marsden has done his annual celebration of people being forced to sleep in pokey spare rooms when round at their parents' for Christmas. Always a great laugh every year, thoroughly recommend having a read. https://bsky.app/hashtag/duvetknowitschristmas Quote
Just Some Guy Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 I find nothing is better for my mood than nipping onto the UKFF once a day to see what you wonderful people are chatting about. So whether you are providing results from the most recent NJPW show, posting your chippy tea or simply lurking, Merry Christmas to you all. May you find peace & happiness in whatever you choose to do. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted December 24, 2024 Members Posted December 24, 2024 Gave my ex one of her presents as we all open something small on xmas eve (I got the latest copy of Private Eye which I'll put to good use for a poo in a bit) "I already have that book. You bought it for me last Christmas" ffs. Quote
Paid Members johnnyboy Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 Merry Christmas one and all. I was at the "what day of the week is it?" stage of the festive period by yesterday. Apparently it's still Tuesday today. I'm off to Midnight Mass in a bit to pay my respects to Baby Jesus. I hope you have as crazy or as peaceful time as you want and need, and remember that you are loved. Spoiler Forgot to squeeze in an "emptying my sack" line somewhere, but then I'd gone all sincere and it didn't seem appropriate Quote
RedTwoster Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 We made a huge mistake with our starter for tomorrow, making a langoustine bisque - the stock alone has made the house reek of shellfish, and no amount of Christmas candle burning seems to be getting rid of it. I think the smell might be part of the house now. Still though, the soup tastes great. Hope all of you wonderful people have a great day tomorrow. I’ve said it before, but it’s a wonderful community on here - and you’re a great bunch. I think you’re all great - but a special thank you to @FLipsand @Dr. Alan Grant for their brilliant posts about gaming, @LaGoosh for humouring me and essentially watching WWE on request, @DavidB6937 for his unmissable posts about wrestling and @Frankie Crisp for making my belly laugh with some genuinely brilliant posts this year. @Lion_of_the_Midlands too, just a top, top poster. And while I still suspect you’re Tony Khan’s burner account @Hannibal Scorch, you continue to be a lovely person and the forum would be worse off without you ? And a final shout out to @Loki, who I hope is still lurking on these boards - and makes a triumphant comeback in 2026. If I didn’t mention you, I probably just forgot - Merry Xmas to everyone! Quote
Paid Members Carbomb Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 Merry Christmas, Hanukkah Sameach, Happy Festivus, and a hearty WASSAIL to all of you, you crop of fellow mentalists. Quote

Haha yeah it's a family thing but over the years everyone's had kids and now it tends to be an afternoon thing as the kids crash out about 6 and all start crying. It's brilliant. Quote
Paid Members Jesse Posted December 24, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 24, 2024 I'm not much of a Christmas person, nowadays all my spare time gets sucked into work (an important time in children's entertainment, unsurprisingly) but I'm doing my best to celebrate by watching all the Mission Impossible movies (just got done with Ghost Protocol tonight) which seems like a UKFF way to enjoy the season. lars85 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Merry Christmas to you all. Just off to smear the vodka margarine onto the turkey. Quote
RIDDUM_N_STYLE Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Just finished watching Muppet Christmas Carol so now it’s officially Christmas and tbh I’m glad of the break, even just for the two days I have off, as it’s been a real test working this month, particularly the last few days, as it seems that the worst kind of customers have ventured out this year, summed up by a group of 15 year olds smashing one of the fire alarms last night for the hell of it and almost causing an evacuation So with that, peace and love to all ‘Keffers and hope everyone gets what they want, eats shitloads and drink the day away, Merry Christmas ya filthy animals Quote
