Paid Members Statto Posted August 30 Paid Members Posted August 30 Twice in the last 12 months I've booked train travel from Norwich to London for an event. Twice said train has been cancelled due to theft of signalling cables at Beaulieu Park. Does this happen every weekend or am I just unlucky? Quote
Paid Members BigJag Posted August 30 Paid Members Posted August 30 Copper theft is definitely a problem. Quote

Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted August 30 Posted August 30 Pretty much. Just on the edge of Chelmsford. Huuuggee car park but only ever seemingly about 10% full. Its future-proofed with the amount of development going on, but at the moment it just looks like a complete waste of space Quote
Paid Members Accident Prone Posted September 1 Paid Members Posted September 1 (edited) We've doomed, everyone. Guy at work was trying to figure out if the milk was off. Instead of smelling it or pouring a tiny drop into a glass and having a taste test, he was pouring it into his tea whilst filming it with Claude and getting Claude to examine the reaction the hot tea was having with the milk as a way to determine if it was off. We're fucked, dial it in, send the nukes. Edited September 1 by Accident Prone Quote

Paid Members Jazzy G Posted September 1 Paid Members Posted September 1 Listening to the news on the radio and they were talking about the Tupac murder trial and I almost choked on my brew when I could swear I heard them saying the killer was also known as "Kiki Dee"? Elton John mist be feeling conflicted this morning. Quote

We're fucked, dial it in, send the nukes. I'm convinced that the fact we're not allowed to take the piss out of things like this anymore to the culprit is a huge factor in this. I was a tit doing more things that I care to remember wrong in workplaces when I was younger, having a quick-witted elder to make fun of it definitely helped shape me up. My wife had a long catch-up call with her old school mates that live in different corners of the world nowadays. All of them are in management roles in their 30s now and were able to fill an hour sharing stories of how they have had formal complaints filed against them from Gen Z junior employees for telling them how to do their job or commenting on something not being up to expectations. I think my favorite was the one where the junior employee filed a serious grievance because she was sent a gentle deadline reminder via email rather than on Teams. All because they felt a tiny bit of embarrassment or ever so slighted. The cost of the man hours alone dealing with these petty tantrums must be staggering for a huge corporation. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Uber and Wayve are rolling out their robotaxi service in London but they'll come with a human driver to monitor and take over if needed. Definitely fills me with confidence. Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted September 4 Paid Members Posted September 4 my partner works in HR, and it's definitely not just a Gen Z problem to be filing grievances for bullshit. Plenty of it from people in their 40s, 50s and 60s too, and no shortage of them being because those people have sought "legal advice" from ChatGPT. Quote
