Phoebe Bridgers is just Taylor Swift for hipsters who couldn't possibly be seen listening to a mainstream superstar. Except she's not as good. Quote

Members SuperBacon Posted December 4, 2024 Members Posted December 4, 2024 Absolutely love the fact that the only one in the top 5 that aren't my 15yos is Bill fucking Hicks ? So funny that not only do I rarely get to use the account but when I do its really only to listen to him as I fall asleep. Quote
Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted December 4, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 4, 2024 Me and my wife share an account, so it's interesting to see how it comes together. Quote
Merzbow Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Charli had to be somewhere up there, this doesn't include most of my listening which is actual music files on my PC and phone though. Quote
Paid Members TheBurningRed Posted December 4, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 4, 2024 In my top 100 (or whatever the number actually is) of most played songs this year, bang in the middle is a chapter from the Highway Code. Clearly struggled with one aspect more than I realised. At least it wasn’t in the top 5. Quote
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted December 4, 2024 Awards Moderator Posted December 4, 2024 9 years on top for the Old Grey Williams Test. Quote
Paid Members Monkee Posted December 4, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 4, 2024 (edited) I listen to Amazon Music more than Spotify. Edited December 4, 2024 by Monkee Quote
Chili Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 Link to my most played of 2024. I'm afraid I don't really engage with modern music, not of snobbery, I just don't really have an interest. Anyway, might be some old shite on here people enjoy. I've really enjoyed seeing what people are into tbh. Quote
Cousin Jim Bob Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I'm on YouTube Music and can't figure out how to do this anymore but I remember when I was on Spotify a few years ago and almost every night I would fall asleep listening to Wrestle Me quietly in my earbuds. I found it very relaxing and amusing listening to them laughing about Mr Fuji and Lord Alfred Hayes whilst dozing off. Sometimes I would remember to take my earbuds off, sometimes my partner would wake me to take them off, loads of times though I would just wake up in the morning 5 Wrestlemanias later. I would have no clue what episode it was when I fell asleep, so I would just guess and kept re-listening to episodes. When the yearly Spotify Wrapped thing popped up that year the first thing it says is Your Favourite Artist is Wrestle Me and you have listened to them for 850 hours! I was probably the person who listened to Wrestle Me the most in the world that year on Spotify lol. Quote
Paid Members Statto Posted December 5, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 5, 2024 No real surprises here on the artist front. Whilst I like both songs, Country Heroes (Hank Williams III) and Act Naturally (Buck Owens) make it into the top 5 for being among the set of songs I was learning for my first public guitar/singing at the same time performance in the spring. So was Undertow (Hellbound Glory) but that would have made it in anyway. Quote
WyattSheepMask Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Despite having listened to 833 artists this year, my top 5 is as predictable as ever Quote
The Gaffer Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Yeah not even going to grab the screenshots, easier to just say my wrapped was Brat. I work from home so use YouTube mostly for my weird shit/made up subgenre mood playlists. Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted December 5, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 5, 2024 The first time I've had a Spotify Wrapped with nothing in the way of rock or metal breaking the top five at all. The only real surprise is that Tony Njoku song, as I honestly had no idea what it even was. Turns out it's in a playlist I use to fall asleep to, which always skews things - same reason Paul Simon is higher than I'd expect. Podcasts are never accurate, as I don't listen to all of them on Spotify, though it's a reasonable enough estimate, just a couple of notables missing. Quote
