Paid Members BomberPat Posted September 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 16, 2025 I have a photo of me with the Lucha Bros somewhere, and both of them look absolutely bored out of their mind behind the masks. Penta is one of the exceptions to the rule that masked luchadores are always really handsome - he's not ugly, just so unremarkable that you'd forget he was there while looking right at him. Jeff Jarrett was asked on his podcast a while back about whether WWE were right to not team the Lucha Bros up right away, and I think his response was pretty smart - this way, they get to establish three separate IPs; Penta, Rey Fenix, and the Lucha Bros, rather than just the Lucha Bros as an act right off the bat. I had assumed they would do the reunion on the first Worlds Collide show, or to prop up Triplemania, but it's interesting that neither of them have shown up in AAA. Fenix is a guy I just completely forget even works there. I never see his name in discussions of what's going on, and looking at Cagematch I can see why. Quote
Paid Members mim731 Posted September 16, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 16, 2025 I am enjoying the direction of the Bayley angle thus far, but I have zero faith this won't turn into a farce that gets ultimately dropped within weeks. Presumably after they start getting flack from a mental health charity. Asuka is a lot of fun at the moment. 30 minutes ago, Supremo said: Whilst the ultimate dream remains every single mid-carder turning into an El Grande Americano, with a returning Chad Gable having to fight off hundreds of them like Neo fighting a load of Agent Smiths in The Matrix, Whatever they do will ultimately be less good than this, sadly. That would be amazing, and a great way to re-introduce Gable when he's back. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted September 25, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 25, 2025 (edited) Wrestlepalooza felt like WWE was completely dead and buried. Game’s gone. Raw was much better. There’s still some life. More than a handful of times you could feel the boom’s pulse. Faint, but definitely there. Biggest improvement was Cody being all over the show. I swear half the reason WWE nosedived in 2025 was because they took the focus off Cody and he took extended leave. Good opening promo. Nice callbacks to his and Seth’s history. Wrestlemania 40 always felt like lore they should dig into more. Cody going full Luke Skywalker and offering to help save Jey Uso from turning to the Dark Side was nice, too. I’m interested in seeing where they go with Jey losing his head. Layered, interconnected storylines, with Cody existing as connective tissue? We might be back!* *We aren’t back. CM Punk will probably cost Seth the match at Crown Jewel, Cody will return to Smackdown and normal business will resume. Solid closing angle, too. Nice to have the women main event, good to have Rhea brought back into focus, Asuka is fantastic as a heel and you suspect this leads to a huge Tag Match in Australia. Worst thing on the show is the Bayley split personality shit. Absolutely dreadful. Is Bayley’s contract due? They’ve somehow managed to book her even worse than before. She’ll be more worthless than Bret in WCW by the time she presumably goes to AEW on a Mercedes contract. B minus. Progress is progress. Best thing from Monday wasn’t even on Raw. It was Becky’s Twitter. Creating a crap photoshop of a bee attacking, arguing she didn’t tap out against AJ Lee and was merely swatting it away. Top bullshit. This should have been the main storyline of the show! Edited September 25, 2025 by Supremo Quote
Kfogg1991 Posted September 25, 2025 Posted September 25, 2025 Personally WWE has completely lost the biggest thing that made it completely enjoyable and exciting was having storytelling and angles be a Focal point with meaning and direction. Since the bloodline stoped and split they gave up on that side of programming and haven't had anything close to that for us to sink our teeth into and make a reason to watch the next raw or smackdown which Roman and the bloodline did for that long it's almost damaged them having it end and go away. It feels flat and uninspired, feels like Paul has tapped out or needs to give the reigns to someone else for a period and recharge if he wants to continue and keep that role which I don't know if he wants to, he's making awful mistakes and downfalls like promising a can't miss ppv and surprises and appearances no one is expecting then deliver absolutely nothing promised and made a lacklustre and disappointing show that your new shiny platform and partners have publicly panned and said was underwhelming you need to listen and give some fire again. The problem isn’t this. The problem is they think Rollins/The Vision is an engaging direction. Quote

Paid Members air_raid Posted October 7, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 7, 2025 I have near zero interest in what’s going on at the moment, but my inner child is crying that we’re in October but not getting excited for Survivor Series yet. Speculating what the teams will be and just as important, what they’ll be called. And I mean teams of four named The Kings Court or The Foreign Fanatics, not teams of five called Team Miz or Team Ziggler. Or worse, Team Raw and Team SmackDown. Quote

Paid Members Statto Posted October 7, 2025 Paid Members Posted October 7, 2025 I'd happily live with sponsored team names if it meant proper Survivor Series rather than the infinitely inferior, fundamentally flawed concept that is War Games. Must have said this a dozen times now but if WWE don't want it, AEW should absolutely rip off the proper Survivor Series format across a week of TV at some point. Big cash prizes on offer no doubt. simonworden Posted October 8, 2025 Posted October 8, 2025 I'm surprised they haven't grifted a team/ wrestler sponsored name yet to be honest. It could be essentially legal blackmail. Give us $5,000,000 and we'll have your guy smash through everyone as The Mystery McNugget. Then when the contract renewal comes up start having them lose and up the price for more wins reminding the brand that they live or die on their pro wrestling win loss record. Quote
