Do we know why Stephanie Vaquer has been off TV (unless I've missed something)? Do they just have nothing for her before the Iyo match, or is she injured?

This…this…a thousand times this!

An issue even before ‘Unreal’ was released but given they’ve just done a ‘how the sausage is made’ peek-behind-the-curtain doco about how everything is planned and mapped out for a show, the audience then have to believe that they wouldn’t have the bulk (if not all) of the show already mapped out. Bothers me even more when it’s the main event of the show.

Stop insulting our intelligence!!!

It's one of the things that annoys me the most about the modern era of wrestling.

All the "suspension of disbelief" aside, and ignoring "Unreal", it's just daft.

Running an event, with no main event scheduled, and no idea of a running order is no way to run a business. I mean, what was the plan if your big stars weren't booked in a match on that night and you hadn't scheduled a main event... Terrible way to do your job. Maybe they should say "My existing main event of Akira Tozawa VS Omos is cancelled"

I've been thinking the same thing.

She was getting over huge and has a unique charisma to her but has been MIA for what seems like ages now.

Definitely got to be something going on with her. They literally had her everywhere at one point and then barely anything.

@Kamran might want to edit that and chuck in a spoiler tag for NXT. Not bothered myself. but maybe there's someone on here who follows it avidly enough they'd want to avoid spoilers.

I'm definitely sick of the impromptu match making trope too, but in fairness within wrestling canon the logic of it does kind of check out when you consider that 'good wrestling TV'/'the best eras' are ones where it was all car crash, unplanned, "Oh shit, what's going to happen next!" so within kayfabe I don't think it's too big a leap of logic that authority figures who run the shows would just go in with that mentality.

That being said another one along those lines I've never liked (and to be fair WWE from what little I've seen this year seem to be avoiding it with their arena walk in shots) is your big star just coming out hitherto announced to do a promo halfway into the show.

The big star should always, always be handled like Austin in the sense that the arena/TV viewers should always be let in on when they arrive to the building, how they're feeling and what they might do tonight.

AJ Lee insulting Becky Lynch for having a “constipated face.” You cannot convince me that Vince McMahon isn’t somehow involved in writing the product right now.

However, second straight week it needs to be said. Pairing Seth Rollins with Becky has improved his act tenfold.

It’s the most basic of panto heel stuff, but when was the last time you saw Seth get caught up in the crowd chanting against him, shouting at them to shut up? Or trying to think of a funny retort to them insulting him? Even at his most heelish, I don’t think he’s ever done that. He just spams catchphrases/nicknames/cackling. With Becky clearly being the better performer, with far more wit and ability to bounce off the crowd, you can watch in real time as she drags her useless husband along for the ride. Complete carry job.

As my last remaining link to Raw, @Supremo could start completely making up the results and I'd probably take a full six months to notice.

Bonus thoughts!

Stephanie Vaquer vs. Rhea Ripley is the biggest thing they’ve got right now. Every time they share a screen, it screams Wrestlemania Main Event. There’s magic there if they don’t somehow screw it up.

There’s nothing more cursed than Penta without the eye makeup. Freaks me out every week.

I wonder if Penta vs. The New Day is building to a Lucha Bros run. Might save Fenix’s WWE career now that Andrade has got himself sacked. Fenix must be begging Penta to get the band back together. He’s gonna end up stranded in the Phantom Zone (“Main Event”) otherwise.

Whilst the ultimate dream remains every single mid-carder turning into an El Grande Americano, with a returning Chad Gable having to fight off hundreds of them like Neo fighting a load of Agent Smiths in The Matrix, there was a real sense of them jumping the shark with Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne getting in on the action. Those whoppers getting involved, it felt like when the worst people at work try and join in on an inside joke. Whole thing’s ruined.

John Cena on this show: “Brock Lesnar is no doubt controversial.”

Why’s he controversial, John? What’s controversial, John? Explain the  controversy, John! John? JOHN?
