Reason three hundred and seventy two why CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins is one of the worst feuds of all time is that their incessant need to keep going with it long past its sell-by-date has forced Roman Reigns to play at the kiddy table for so long.

A man with that much star power, working so few dates, it’s criminal that the best they’ve got for him every time he shows up for work is just more Bronson Reed matches.

I felt it throughout this show. Even mucking about with The Two Bronnies and retreading tired, old Bloodline lore with Jey Uso, the show was still massively elevated for having Roman around.

Path seems clear. Never ever do Seth vs. Punk again. Neither man is allowed to ever interact, mention or look at the other ever again. Pay Roman an extra ten million a year. And then start pulling some fucking triggers. I don’t even like Seth, but do the Roman vs. Seth singles match. Do the Roman vs. Punk singles match. Do Roman vs. Cody again. I don’t know what they’re waiting for.

Better do it now, whilst you still can! Now The Rock’s new film has bombed so badly he’s started doing that tragic damage control stuff on Instagram again (“I don’t actually care about box office, so joke’s on you, if anything!”), I’d do my dream matches whilst I have them. You can forget about saving anything for your Wrestlemania season, Hunter. Hat trick incoming!

To be fair to The Rock this film was never going to do good business and he knew it. It's basically just Oscar bait. The Rock and his team's attempt to get him a best actor Oscar and prove he is also a "serious" actor now. It might work too, I can see him getting a nomination at least.

Now if the Live Action version of Moana flops next year, then he has a serious problem.

I can't see why anyone would realistically think Smashing Machine was ever going to be massive. A niche, personal tale about a fighter that barely anyone knows? Movies like that aren't generally massive box office hits. They can market and promote it as much as they want but at the end of the day it's quite rare for something like that to catch on big, no matter who's in it.

I wouldn’t have thought anyone expected a Box Office smash, but Rock’s transparent reaction suggested he was definitely gotten to.

All but posted, “I’m not disappointed. Don’t put in the newspaper that I’m disappointed.”

Not that I’m complaining. Frankly, given the dull, lifeless, repetitive year Hunter has given us, I now welcome some Maivia March Madness. It’s something I thought about when everyone has been rightly slagging Hunter off recently for those boring snoozefests he had with Scott Steiner and Goldberg in 2003. Man’s learnt nothing in twenty years. Still dragging shit out for ages and ages, regardless of whether it’s working or playing to anyone’s strengths. Just the same thing going on and on and on and on. I bet he sits in Gorilla in those horrible purple trunks as he times out the show. Smackdown has became his neverending Hell in a Cell match with HBK and Raw has became his neverending Three Stages of Hell match with HBK. I’m begging Rock to down a pint of ket and inject some life into this company’s creative again.

EDIT: to save me sounding like a moany old prick, this week’s Raw featured two incredible video packages that sold AJ vs. Cena and Seth vs. Cody as massive, can’t-miss matches. Considering the, “Crown Jewel,” moniker is synonymous with horrible, non-canon, skippable shows, this weekend has quietly became a contender for WWE’s card of the year!

I won't labour the point but that reads to me like, even if its not done well at the box office, he is still very happy with his performance. Which has received.a lot of praise even if critics were a bit split on the actual film. If he was going for a project to get him Oscar and Golden Globe nominations, that is what you want.

Anywho, back to the wrestling.

Can only really see Rollins/Reigns at Mania if Rollins has dropped the participation belt by then, as surely Roman wouldn't lower himself going after that.

I reckon he could, further justifies it as a Night 1 “main” and gives Reigns another accolade which they love doing, and get one more rub off him to eventually lose to another baddie. Like Breakker.

They’d get some wanky pseudo-shoot comments in there where Reigns points out the belt was made because nobody could beat him.

Considering how heavily promoted it's been and starring two proven box office draws that it's not unreasonable to suggest The Smashing Machine has been a flop. It really has. It's going to do well to make The Iron Claw numbers - but that was made for a third of the budget and as such was a success. $50 million on an MMA biopic is stupid money.

Just seen that the Elimination Chamber is in Chicago.

So that could point to your Mania predictions being correct, Roman winning the Saudi Rumble to get to Rollins and Punk winning the EC to get to Cody.

Can see Cody/Punk build up being predictable and boring, Cody being his paranoid self questioning Punks friendship to him, while they tag multiple times on the way to Mania facing the MFT's.

Hopefully I'm wrong!

You know that lad on social media who’s refusing to cut his hair until Man United win five games in a row?

I reckon CM Punk is quietly doing something similar. Refusing to stop growing his bouffant until he’s no longer feuding with Seth Rollins. He cut a promo on Seth on Monday, because of course he fucking did. Streak continues. He is now more bouffant than man. Beavis and Butthead Jones over here!

“CM Punk has had a trim and they’ve turned The Vision on Seth! This could finally be the end!”

I’m expecting news to come out that Seth is injured coming off the back of that stupid Coast to Coast Headbutt. Looked like he fucked his arm up doing that.*

*They’re The Fed who cried wolf though. I equally wouldn’t be shocked if this is yet another swerve to trick CM Punk, the Vision reunite after helping Seth win, and this feud rolls on and on. Only a short back and sides for CM Punk will confirm.

They’re going to have Punk & Rollins begrudgingly team up arn’t they?

I didn’t realise the show was on this afternoon as I thought they’d have flown back to the States in time for tonight. Stuck it on just as the Main Event was starting. Fine but nothing outstanding.
Missed the turn on Seth as I figured the show had finished. Shame as I could watch Bronson Reed hit Rollins with Tsunami Splashes until the end of time

Exactly my thoughts. Triple H has found a new way of fucking with Punk, just when we thought he’d exhausted them between sending his last match with Cena to Saudi Arabia and The Never-Ending Seth Feud.

The old after the credits "surprise". Trips must have done it a hundred times.

Heyman looks like the time David Jason played a Mafia boss in Only Fools, but he's had a lot more pizza and pasta.

Great moves from the young lads. I presume they're the babyfaces now, turning on that pillock?

Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a swerve bro and they help him beat Punk at SNME. If not I guess Brock aligns with them for the foreseeable.

Seems you’re right, he was spotted out and about wearing a sling on his left arm. Surely they wouldn’t redo an utterly shit bad taste injury angle already?

Don’t wish anyone an injury but could end up being the best thing for Raw’s main event scene. Give Punk a little reign then have Bron win it at the end of the year and push him to the moon.
