Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted November 22, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 22, 2024 Maybe people will take notice of Juror #2 now @Devon Malcolm agreed with me. A very limited run in the US, and not much of one here either. Crying shame Quote

Wasn't showing right up to Halloween, was on the weekend after, then gone when Gladiator 2 came out. Hopefully catch it on streaming if it doesn't end up on Apple. Quote

It’s a WB release so likely Sky or Prime Quote

I'm finding this to be the case with pretty much everything now. If you don't catch it on release week then you're fucked, unless it's got capes in it. Even Gladiator 2 is down to 2 screenings a day at my local, whereas last week it was every hour. Quote

It's one of my favourite books. Same - though shamefully I’ve never read it, I’d heard good things about this version and would have loved to catch it in cinemas. Quote

Disney haven’t got involvement this time round. That said, watched Wicked at 4pm. Never seen the musical, only know one song. Loved it. When I came out the foyer was heaving. Last time it was that busy was Barbenheimer day. So at least that’s good news for the cinemas. Quote
SaitoRyo Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Extreme Prejudice A really fucking macho three-beer action/modern western from Walter Hill. Full of tough bastards like Nick Nolte, Powers Boothe, Rip Torn and Michael Ironside doing manly shit, firing guns and blowing things up in a border town. I really enjoyed it, and it sort of finished off my week of watching Tex-Mex border films after Rolling Thunder and Lone Star. Very indebted to Peckinpah, obviously, but also stands as its own thing and I think it should be in the conversation more when talking about Hill's oeuvre. Quote

WyattSheepMask Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Juror #2 is streaming on MAX in the U.S. from December 20th, so if you missed it in the cinema or it just was t showing near you, it’ll be in the usual online places around that time if that’s your sort of thing Quote

Merzbow Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Blitz It's fine but it sure doesn't feel like a big McQueen movie, more like something the BBC would make a 2 parter of or something to show over the Christmas season but with a little more budget. Quote
wordsfromlee Posted November 24, 2024 Posted November 24, 2024 Woman of the Hour While it was shot really well and Anna Kendrick did a great job directing, I found it really slow and boring. Quote
Merzbow Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Napoleon: Directors Cut Horribly paced, woefully miscast and tonally all over the damn place but I enjoyed it at times, it can be genuinely funny and the battles look great. I'm wondering if it was intentionally historically inaccurate so often? It gets some tiny little things so right but then fucks up massively at times, too. I nearly quit early on after hearing everyone from every country in British accents, then there's Mr Phoenix himself... what the hell was he going for? Robert Pattinson at least tried when he had to be French in The King. Quote
