Jackass / CKY

He's obviously lashing out, like he has been in videos like this for years, so who knows if he's actually been kicked off? I'd assume it's more 'kicked off set' than removed and cut from the film. Jackass 3 was a dry set, because of Steve-O's issues, so if he missed or refused a test, I'd imagine it's in the contract that he has to be removed.

He posted another update today about seeing a bi-polar specialist, and walking back the anger at the rest of the cast. At this point, it's hard to see him getting clean, sadly, unless he completely changes the way he's always lived. In that first video, he talks about the great friends he's made, but the rest of his Instagram's filled with these terrible, never-ending parties, where they're obviously all just leeching off him; big Celebrity house filled with skaters and people dozing in filth, music blaring, daring each other to eat stuff off the floor and nobody wearing a mask (he's a Covid denier), like it's still 1999, except Bam's now the age Phil was when he was beating on him in those first Jackass skits.

Wearing a Burzum t-shirt too. Fucking hell.

Does anyone know if Brandon Novak is actually still clean these days? I know Bam says in that post that it’s all bollocks but it’s sad to see Bam giving Novak all that help and love to sort himself out from addiction, only to fall into the same trap himself.

Thing is, I don’t think he was properly signed up for the film. Paramount had concerns about him and a potential relapse. He’d been doing so well and was clean for over a year. Then a few weeks ago he decided to come off his meds and he’s just got worse since and he relapsed on a bottle of wine the other day. Shame because he was getting back into skating and was looking good again and it seemed like a much more healthy and happier environment all round.

He is. And you can tell by the way he talks and the way he looks. Back during Viva La Bam and then the radio show days, he looked on deaths door and was constantly high or drunk and slurring his words. I don’t think anyone expected him to live and he turned it around eventually. It always sounds like Bam is bitter and jealous that Novak got clean and healthy. He accepts his help and then rejects him. Probably the Bi-Polar side of him coming out. Plus, he’s still holding a grudge over Novak stealing and wrecking his car which he brings up whenever he has one of these breakdowns.

Not me. The self titled, Hvis Lyset Tar Oss and Filosofem will forever be timeless classics in black metal and I adore them to this day. Many will also point to Det Som Engang Var too, but that one never gripped me as much as the others for whatever reason. More recently, The Ways of Yore has been a regular bedtime album for me since it released.

Think of Varg personally whatever you wish but there's no denying he had an immense impact on an entire genre. I certainly never "grew out" of him.

The music's fine. The t-shirt smacks of metal edgelord posturing. I can't otherwise fathom the desire to want to wear the shirt of someone who stabbed a bloke 23 times in a 'Who's Spookier?' arms race and has a hard on for racial purity pseudoscience.

That's the least of Bam's problems, though. I really hope he can turn the ship around. He wasn't everyone's favourite but I'd rather not have anymore Jackass guys dying for a long, long time. There's something about the guy that tells me it'll be a hard way out, though. It's weird saying that because I don't know any of them, but I guess that's the "But they're my friends!" effect years of following Jackass has had.

This is why he's where he's at, and why he's not going to get out of it without some kind of brutal intervention.

This is from a podcast a couple of years ago hosted by Novak and Joe Frantz (director of a lot of stuff involving Bam and the CKY crew) about the start of all his problems and the interventions and various attempts at rehab.

Novak is full of these quotes from recovery that can be too much sometimes. I’m surprised he didn’t come out with ‘real eyes realise real lies’ at one point.

Fuck man that was really hard to watch. The guy hasn't been able to recover since loosing Ryan and it has been a world filled with some up's but more down's than anything and the guy is a unreliable mess and honestly I would imagine a danger on set. The terms were set before they started filming it was a clean and dry set as alot of the guy's are in rehab now and they can't be around that stuff. I don't want to wake up and read that he has died of a OD or taking his own life but it seems more and more likely when you watch videos like that.

Its really sad to say but I think the ship has sailed for him to recover and get sober. He has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on rehab, He's had several people try to support him and form an intervention but they have all failed and nothing seems to give him that push to stay clean and sober.

I recently rewatched "Bams Unholy Union" and "Where the fuck is Santa" I think they're his most recent-ish shows and films, I don't know much about what happened but Missy (ex wife) seemed good for him and was stable and sensible which is probably why it didn't work for them.

Always liked his punkish style and similar tastes in finnish rock bands like HIM, 69 EYES, NEGATIVE, but he seems to have never settled down from partying or grown up, the video is really hard to see, he's a bloated mess with dodgy tattoo doodles on him.

Hopefully he can turn this around.

Probably ruined by all the drinking and drug binges and affairs. He started dating some mess of a woman called Tammy after Missy who was more than happy to indulge in drinking and getting high with him. He just surrounded himself at that point with people who wouldn’t try and stop him from fucking up.

I spent far too much time as a teenager getting into all this. The Margera saga was clearly my go to soap opera.

Yeah good point, surely there is going to be some smoke and mirror stunts in this one? I know the Jackass lads are all a bit mad but surely even they know that they won't be able to shrug some of the stuff of they did in their 20's with such ease, especially considering most of them have lived less than ideal life styles for a number of years.

Knoxville will still do something mad won't he.
